John grew up in an abusive household. His father, Scratch, was both emotionally & physically abusive, something his mother, Jules, desperately tried to stop. However, she was unable to. John grew up loathing his father, & loving his mother deeply. However, one day, his mother was in a car accident, & was killed. When Scratch found out, he ran John off, leaving him homeless. John stayed on the streets for a long time, until he found a female furry named Misty, who took him in. She brought him back to his feet. Incredibly grateful for her actions, John kept in contact with her, & they eventually became mates- though, it was quite forced. Together, they had 3 children, Aura, Strike, & Socks. Their relationship didn't last much past this, as Misty was quite a cold mother, often ignoring her children's needs. So, they split up after this, with John taking the children.

After he left Misty, John discovered a love for plants, & nature, which inspired him to become a botanist, & in my soon-to-come AU, a potion maker. John is a very gentle, sweet, quiet soul who isn't afraid to stand up for things that he believes are right.
