-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Location: An alternate version of Earth (but aside from tht magical part, most parts r exactly the same as ours);  it exists within the normal world, and is merely a magical and hidden side of this Earth, which people call 'Thrylos'

Time: Currently, it's around 1700 AD or so

Characters:

- Toshi

- Yagir

-Aukai

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

General layout

- The world is in a fantasty world where creatures from different myths and legends (even those from books and movies), live together, but still theres different sections in that world where those from different myths / legends live (kinda like our countries actually. For example, those from Egyptian legends tend to live together in the section called  'Egyptian legends', while those from Chinese folklore live in another section called 'Chinese legends'. The layout of the sections are mostly similiar to the layout of our countries during the 1700's.) But problem is that not everyone can detect tht world's existence. Ehh basically it's a magical world hidden in a normal world- the creatures co-exist with normal mortals without them knowing that they're mythological creatures.

- The mortals will see them as things in their normal world (like an elf will appear as a normal human to them, a Yeti as a polar bear, etc. But for those who can see the magical side, they are very concious of each others' existence and knows that they exist hhh. Like those of chinese legends all know that those of western legends exist, etc. Normally only magical beings can see this world, such as wizards, 道士, dragons, etc. But mortals who have a strong mana core can also see it- they call this the Sight.

- Some species prefer to live away from the Mortals, while others live among them. For those who live away, there are usually portals that lead to dimensions containing huge cities, roaming with mythical species of all kinds. However there ofc are smaller towns deep in the woods and not existing in seperate dimensions; those are well hidden with wards and barriers against the Mortals though. They tend to turn away without realising it themselves when they're near the barriers, ending up going back the way they came from. Only those with the Sight, or magical beings, can manage to pass through without getting confused.

- Yes! All creatures created in our minds exist here! Not only those in officail books, legends, etc.! But same rule goes- the lesser known the species, the lower the rank they have. So self-created species tend not to have much of a rank here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mana Cores

- Mana Cores exist within every single being! Even mortals! They range from strong to weak- the strong ones are very dominant in their systems while the weak ones tend to fade. The stronger the mana core, the stronger the being is. This can include stronger physically (growing larger), or magically (ability to cast stronger spells), or just an upgrade of senses; they can affect the being in almost everyway, not only magic-wise.

- Stronger magical beings tend to posses stronger mana cores (like a dragon would have a stronger core than a goblin, etc.), while weak ones their core is naturally weaker. Those whose cores are too weak are completely unable to detect the existence of magic and thus wont be able to sense this magical world. Namely, the Mortals (normal humans).

- But the mana core can be strengthened by practice and such, and it naturally grows stronger as the creature ages. Basically, even Mortals can strengthen their mana cores to a degree where they can sense and see the magical world (also called the Sight), or, if to a higher level, they may also be able to wield magic, thus becoming Witches and Wizards.

- The strength of the mana cores can be passed on to the next generation, so some families who have a reputation with strong cores will naturally have offspring with them as well. But of course, there are exceptions, especially where one generation might suddenly have an extremely strong core while the rest of them have weak ones.

Souls

All things, no matter 'living' or not, have souls inside them. The soul is the most important essence in the body, with the second being the mana core, and allows one to have their own thoughts and feelings.

However, there is always a barrier seperating the soul from the outer world, which prevents it from interacting with other souls. Over time, some specific species have learned to weaken the barrier using energy supplied from their exceptionaly strong mana cores (living things usually have stronger cores than non living ones), thus being able to interact with other species through sounds and actions, but it's impossible to acheieve full interaction, where one can interact with the soul directly and not through the physical nor mental body.

These species that have managed to break the barrier are known as, 'living things' and are given the status 'alive'.

On the other hand, those who haven't are known as 'non-living things'.

But, when a 'living thing' 'dies', or basically when they grow so weak that theyre unable to sustain the energy thats being used to weaken the barrier between the soul and the outer world, they loose their ability to interact, and are then given the status, 'dead'.

How much one can interact w the soul-

0%- Can think, and have emotions, and feel the existence of other souls around them, but cannot interact at all

Simply by weakening the bond by 25%- Physical control of the body

By weakening the bond by 35%- Voice and control over body

By weakening the bond by 50%- Mental interaction (telekinesis)

65%- Mind reading (can break into the barriers of others)

75%- Able to transfer memories or what the physical body is currently seeing to others

Those who are able to achieve above 75% will be able to communicate with the 'dead', aka those whos barriers have recovered after being previously broken down by lowering their barriers by a mere 10%

On special occasions, some 'non living things' will be able to interact with the outer world...

- Through voice even if they have no control over their bodies. This is for those who have broken the barrier by 15% (usually broken by others or that they have a very strong mana core to supply the energy to break the barrier)

- Through hearing the voices of other souls when they speak through their physical bodies, but they cant talk back nor have any control over their bodies. This is for those who have broken their barriers by 1% (usually done through hard work and a strong desire)

The Council

- The Council is like the place where different magical beings discuss together about problems tht r happening in the magical world and whether to assist or not. They are made up of repesentatives from each species (though less known species may not have a place there). These repesentatives are basically the most famous being in that species; so like, for example for the Pegasi, the repesentative is the Pegasus, the one who was created by Zeus in the myths.

- Within the Council, there are 3 sections in total- the Corrupt (Evil), the Fair (Neutral), and the Lawful (Good). They all make decisions together, and thus, argue alot (they're basically in a constant civil war).

- All of the members in the Council have equal ranks and power, no matter how famous they are.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ranks

- Theres a system of ranks in this world that determines each others' measure of authority. These ranks are determined by how well known an individual / species is in our society and not how strong an individual is (so yes, a Goblin will have a higher rank than, lets say, a Hippocampi since it's more well known. Even though theoratically the Hippocampiis stronger than the Goblin)The more well known an individual is among Mortals, the higher the rank they have. However, there are some exceptions, such as the members of the Council. The basic ranks are listed here, ranking from highest to lowest:

Gods --> Council --> Famous species --> Lesser known species --> Mortals --> Fallen

- The Fallen are those that are exiled by the Council. This is usually due to some serious crime they've commited, such as disobeying the Council, offending the Gods, mass destruction / murder, etc. The voting for banishment is done within the Council itself.

- Even among the species, individuals have different ranks! Remember that!

- Remember, the Ranks do not determine the strength / power of each species / individual! Their Mana Cores do!

- These Ranks are faced with many frowns though, especially from those who are very powerful but not well known- they call for higher ranks.

Fallen

- The Fallen are all locked into a pocket dimension where the domain is hellish and disturbing for the Fallen (morphed acording to each individual's dislikes). No one is allowed to release a Fallen, and ofc to not have any form of interaction with them- the punishment is banishment as well.

- The Fallen can return to the original world if only they've learned their mistakes and swore to serve the community for the rest of their lives. At that point, they will be at the lowest possible rank in the society of magical beings and have to follow the orders of everyone above them.

- Death is only a valid option for punishment here unless that individual was a Fallen once, only to return to the society later on, but to commit yet another crime serious enough that should've lead to banishment. The punishment for that is a slow and tortured death.

- A Fallen is always marked with a black rune that resembles a circle with spikes around it on their left shoulder.

History

(due to the fact that almost all mythical beings live at least over 2000 years, time passes pretty slow in their history. However, in the real world, time is still passing in regular speeds!)

- Around a few thousand years ago, when mythical beings existed everywhere in the world, things were very unorganized and neither knew the other's existence and thought that thet were the only that existed **. But then, as species began to get curious and bored, some began to travel; they found each other. Fights for territory and power began to spread across everywhere, and the world dived into pure chaos. (2900 years ago)

**= this is where Toshi was sealed away by the Taoist Master and fell into a deep slumber. This event happened about 1000 years ago.

- Then, three heros emerged from the darkness and lead everyone into order- they were rumoured to have been aided by the gods, and always had a soul that shone brighther than the rest. They are now recorded in many tapestries and historical scrolls, being depicted as legendary saviors. People call them the  'Chosen'. (2950 years ago)

- With the world in order, the 'Chosen' started the Council; they each repesented a side- the ones from the shadows and hunt in the dark; the ones who thrive in light and shine with the heavenly flames; and the ones who take no sides, existing right between the light and dark. These are now the different parts of the Council, namely the Corrupt, the Lawful, and the Fair. Even though the 'Chosen' had such different points of views, they cooperated together and treated each other as if they were their own blood-bound brothers. The Council was meant to be a sign that even the good can be a friend to evil, and that the world was able to exist in peace. However, this obviously did not happen. (2920 years ago)

- The Ranking system soon appeared. It was meant to put things into order and settle everyone down, but that effect didn't last long. Many started to complain about how the powerful ones got extremely low ranks while the weak got high ones, and how one had to bow down, like a servant, to someone that was higher rank than them. This lead to the famous War of Tiberus; a long term war fought on the two sides of one of the two streams that served as the barrier between the grounds of the Council and the outer world, between the ones who supported the idea, and ones who did not. ** During that war, many searched for help from others -mainly the stronger beings who also had a certain influence on the society- but at the end, many support ended up being bought with gold and silver.

**= this is where the Kirin tribe decided to hide themselves from the outer world and plunged into isolation, in order to not be caught into the tide of war. This event happened about 2000 years ago.

- Peace was found later on when the Council finally announced the law of 'fairness', where beings of higher ranking did not have full control over those of lower rank: they only had more power through laws and terms of influence. However, they still had to be respected. (1700 years ago)

- Now, the world is still buzzing with acitivty like it has before; everyday, every hour, small events pop up here and there, but are forgotten as quickly as they appeared. But soon in the future, this fragile peace will shatter, and once again a new chaos shall emerge...
