Aruza's Links
Aruza's thoughts and opinions on Johanna are generally in the positive, and xe respects her despite their differences in how they think. The problem is that while xe admires her desires to make xem and Yve make peace, xe knows it can't happen, and that xyr mindset that Yve is better off dead will inevitably come to cause conflict between them.
The fact that Johanna is now friends with Laomi has also come to make things more complicated. Xe trusts her enough that she won't rat Laomi out to Yve, but still doesn't know how this is going to affect everything between the three of them.
Aclyone is the first legendary Aruza's met besides Yveltal or Zygarde, after she approached xem about teaming up to take down Yve and her newly-created palace together. The two are both mutually not always the best at socialization and their time together tends to be on the quieter side, but Aruza is fine with this because hey having a space god that can make stuff is a nice unexpected ally.
Xe is also easily impressed by her creation abilities, and being around her is the first time that xe has felt like a child... tfw she's so much older than you; also, xe's grateful to her for both helping out and allowing xem to stay at her Cool Mansion-House, because it sure beats sleeping wherever was convenient. The two are basically legendary roommates for the time being.
...Also, Aruza can admit that Aclyone is hot. Even if Laomi is xyr one beauty and grace, xe can appreciate the fact that Aclyone's attractive.
Where are you?! Are you still here?! Oh god, oh god, I'm so sorry, Laomi, you're my one and everything, I'll find you, I swear I'll find you...
Laomi is Aruza's first and only romantic love, the one person xe made the choice to connect with for all of eternity. Xe had known mortals before, even perhaps made a few significant friendships, but none of them had turned out like they did with Laomi.
It wouldn't have ever happened in the first place, had Aruza not decided to travel the world in order to get out into it again. But after xyr initial standoffish behavior when they first interacted, xe was intrigued as to why she had chosen to talk to xem, and ending up enjoying their time together. Through the friendship that followed, xe quickly realized that Laomi was something unique and different; she was simply wonderful to be around and experience, something that xe had never encountered before. And xe loved it, and grew to care about her a lot. After xe made a dork of xemself and asked her out, xyr care for her only continued to grow. Xe wanted to protect her from that which might harm her, xe wanted to be there for her whenever she needed it. After revealing xyr secret of being a legend to her and her taking it surprisingly well, and their relationship continuing beyond that, Aruza eventually became convinced she was the one person xe wanted to spend the rest of xyr life with, the one exception to xyr rule about not making people immortal. To xem, she was the one person who deserved it the most.
And after she accepted, they were happy. Even when the world fell down around them, they still had each other. They had their differences and their things to participate in couple-bickering about, but they loved each other through all that came and went.
All until it fell down.
Now Aruza is in a panic over Laomi. Xe is afraid for where she might be, if she's even still alive, and about what she's going to say to xem. Xe knows that the emotional impact of finding out what happened to her may be emotionally devastating one way or the other, and in xyr mind, xe is desperately hoping to avoid that. Xe made xyr choice for many reasons, and doesn't want it to hit xem back in the face because of xyr own anger-induced mistake.
In summary, Aruza cares very deeply and genuinely for Laomi. She's a wonder in xyr eyes and brings structure and control to xyr free and independent nature, of which is also a source of their differences becoming apparent or conflicting. Xe knows that xyr belief in her was one of the things to better herself and her life, and xe aims to continue to help her in whatever way xe can. Now that that goal has been thrown into shambles, xe is mad at xemself for it, and in xyr desperation hopes that xe will be able to come back to her and never let her go again.
-screams into the void relentlessly-
Aruza is Laomi's second romantic love, and the last once she's had; it's uncertain as to if she still considers them in a relationship or not in present day. Xe is the source of her immortality and the one person that everything in her life seems to come back to.
There isn't much Laomi can say to why she first talked to Aruza other than the simple fact of xyr appearance. Xe stood out in the crowd, with xyr abnormally tall height and intriguing appearance. So mysterious and intriguing, and not one to give off uncomfortable vibes to her. Her social nature took ahold of her.
Though she figured at first that xe was weirded out by her presence and just wanted her to go away, she continued talking to xem anyhow and got xem to look around with her. She didn't learn much besides xyr name that day, but she at least felt like she had made a bit of a friend.
What became more apparent to her as they spent more time together was that xe came to feel like someone she could trust. Xe was understanding and xyr reserved nature gradually opened up to her, and she needed all the allies she could get. Even more so, xe complimented and assured her of her good qualities in a way that helped her to believe in herself more and let go of self-hating emotions. That was all something she wanted and felt she needed in her life.
When Aruza asked her to enter a relationship, she gladly accepted, as she had been feeling the same way towards xem. And to her delight it was working; she had a relationship that felt healthy to her, and Aruza turned out to be quite the loving partner.
Eventually, Aruza confessed to her about who xe really was, and Laomi was both surprised and not surprised to this. In some ways, it explained why xe felt so strange and mysterious at first, and still kind of did in some ways. Guess she was appealing enough to please a god, who knew.
Laomi still continued the relationship; god or not, she wanted Aruza there. But it all came to a new meaning when xe told her xe could truly make them stay together forever. It took a long time of thinking, but she decided she could bear immortality if she had Aruza there beside her. And beside her xe was, for a long time; xe was there to help her through hardships, there to be xyr dorky self, xe was there, even when the rest of the world wasn't.
And yet even Aruza wasn't there forever. All of that trust Laomi put into something that wouldn't leave her felt betrayed; she felt devastated, put back to nothing, left alone in a world she had learned to be unforgiving towards her.
...She always thought that if something had happened to their relationship, it would have been her, not xem.
From that point on, Laomi's feelings for Aruza have been a complicated mess of uncertainty and feelings. Laomi doesn't know what to think, Laomi doesn't know what is the right decision to make. Should she break off with xem before xe comes back and messes up again? Should she be happy to reunite with xem and have someone again? Has she grown past the need for xem entirely?
She doesn't know. Centuries of thinking over this question have never changed that. And now that she knows Aruza's about to come back for her, she'll have to find her answer in the moment.
Though these two have never met in person, Aruza has clear feelings for Callisto, and those are strong feelings of hatred. Callisto may not be xyr mortal enemy like Yve is, but Aruza can admit she is worse than her on some levels; after all, she brainwashed a large number of the population and disrupted the happy life Aruza and Laomi were having together, forcing them to go into hiding out in the woods to escape the chaos of the world. Aruza was beyond relief when it finally ended and Callisto was put away for good.
...Only to have recently learned that she's no longer done for and has escaped her imprisonment. Though Aruza is too occupied with Yve and xyr promise to Laomi to return to her to properly worry about Callisto, xe would gladly participate in the large manhunt going on for her if xe was able to. After all, Callisto is largely overdue for a punch to the face from xem, type disadvantage or not.
In a nutshell: R E G R E T
In what started as a bad idea in xyr mind and ended as a bad idea in reality, Aruza allowed this mortal to come with xem to (what xe though would be) an infiltration of Yve's palace, figuring as long as they stayed close and weren't caught this could potentially go through with no consequences and she would get to see the Yveltal Palace she wanted to see. Instead, Aruza didn't anticipate there being guards at the front entrance, and it ended in an awkward confrontation face-to-face with Yve with Liselotte shivering in terror behind xem. Leaving the place with Liselotte in tears, Aruza immediately regretted xyr stupidity and apologized to Liselotte, but with xyr identity already exposed and the damage already being done, xe could only offer to walk her home and let her be.
And let her be is what xe intends to do, except for spending a couple days afterwards scraping together enough money to buy her a little apology gift and leave it on her door. It's somewhat too bad for xem, because xe is wondering why this girl knows so much about legendaries and has a friendship with Palkia, but xe isn't willing to ask about it now.
CeCe was the first person Aruza talked to after waking up from stasis, taking up the guise of being a tourist in order to ask them a bunch of questions about their village and gather information in xyr head on just what exactly was going on in the world. Sure enough, CeCe proved to be helpful and pointed Aruza in the right direction, and though xe couldn't show much of it externally, xe was very grateful for their help.
It's a bit of a shame, too, for CeCe offered to travel with xem but xyr travel paths didn't match up, and also wanted xem to visit their family's bakery, but xe didn't have money and thus had to skip out on the offer.
If xe ever sees them again, xe would want to pursue a more definitive relationship with them, but as it is xe will just remember them for being a helpful person to stumble upon.
Not much interaction between these two, but Aruza has never exactly looked forward to meeting the Empress, as xe has formed a negative opinion of her due to her rather brutish ways, unaware now that she has tried to change them. Aruza had actually ending up saving Rhea in a way back before, as Yve was planning to try and kill her when Aruza showed up to confront her, but xe doesn't believe she would've succeeded anyhow.
Nonetheless, xe finally had to make xyr existence known to her when Aclyone decided they should pay her a visit, and, well... it was okay. Xe's opinion hasn't really changed, but xe knows to at least put on a respectful demeanor, however fake it is.
Furthermore, she's been trying to get rid of Callisto, so at least they have something to agree on.
She's only met Aruza once, therefore only knows her as Aclyone's friend so far. She's automatically interested in xem more than the average person thanks to xyr legend status, and knows a little about what happened with xem about a thousand years ago... but Rhea herself was much more focused on Callisto at that time, so she and Aruza aren't really that connected yet.
[Knochen Lust AU Only]
Aruza always has to have red enemies even when xe isn't Xerneas, doesn't xe?
Well, this guy thankfully isn't a sexy bird lady of death, but he's still not much better. He's the reason Aruza has to fight knochen in the first place. If ones like him would stop trying to kill innocent humans, that'd be real nice.
Though in my head this isn't near the level of intimate enemyship Aruza had with Yve, as long as Laomi is out of the picture, it's still a very simple fact that Aruza will be one of many who want to kill him, as he's a threat to humanity. To put it in simple terms, there's an epic red-vs-blue-with-gold-accents sword fight waiting to happen.
[1/25/18] And now it’s more personal. Aruza has been made aware of his existence through his little sister Rowan. According to her, he’s an arrogant dork. But Rowan’s brutal honesty about this older brother of hers killing humans greatly upsets Aruza. Xe knows xe might encounter him one day, and xe wouldn’t know what to do in that situation.
To Esredes, Aruza is a human in his way. Very in his way at times, most likely. It won't be until they meet multiple times that he will pay xem any mind and come to think of xem as a human enemy.
Xyr skill will definitely be the first thing he notices. With the thrill Esredes gets out of fighting, having a human pose such a challenge is an interesting experience for him. He'll certainly get more into their feud the more it happens.
[1/25/18] Since the original writing of this, Aruza has gone and befriended his little sister, which will make things much, much more personal and angry on his end. No human touches her. Not even one trying to help her.
~IT IS FINALLY TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE BIG ONE~
Yve is Aruza's biggest and most personal enemy, the one that xe was created to counter and fight against.
It is perplexing to Aruza as to why a being of literal death like her should exist. It may have allowed for Aruza's existence too, but in Aruza's opinion, Yve simply should not exist. It didn't take long for Aruza to develop a dislike of this being xe was created to counter, but for the longest time it was just that: cautious dislike. Xe simply checked to see that she wasn't causing trouble for the longest time, and while that lead to little clashes, it was never anything significant until the most recent clash, the one which resulted in both of them going into stasis.
Now that Aruza is out of stasis, xe is determined to finish this conflict once and for all by ending Yve's life. In xyr mind, the world is simply much better off without her, and xe can rest much easier with that being the case. At the same time, however, xe won't admit it, but xe is afraid of what she is planning. Her reassurance that she will make xem suffer has stuck in the back of xyr mind. More than ever before, xe is scared she will kill a bunch of people or even worse, somehow find her way to Laomi.
Though Aruza has developed a hatred for Yve as a person and finds her to be awful in every way, the hatred is not entirely of just Yve's fault. Xe isn't aware of it, but part of it comes from xem projecting xyr own inner turmoil over past failures to save people from death onto Yve as an easy figure to represent all of that and take it out on. In a way, killing her would be somehow avenging that in xyr own mind and finding release.
But the bottom line is that Yve is Aruza's true enemy, and xe will try xyr hardest to bring about the correction of this mistake upon the world.
