Ezekial Marius, with a strong preference to simply be referred to as Marius, was a surgeon with a promising career and future ahead of him. Strong willed and deeply concerned with others, no one had any doubts that Marius would become successful in life. He took pride in the work he'd put in to get him to such a strong point in his life. However, there were always doubts and fears that plagued Marius' thoughts.

Through his time in his residency, and then when he was able to stand on his own in his career, Marius was greatly concerned and affected by the death that surrounded him. Though he had experienced much more success than not during his time in the medical profession, it was the negatives that stayed in his mind so prominently. Determined to overcome it, he pushed himself to continue for as long as he could.

Eventually, though, the toll of loss was too great on Marius. He turned to magic for his arnswers. Burying himself in ancient tomes in his free time, teaching himself first, how to use healing magic. But it wouldn't give him the real answers he wanted, healing magic was never a guarantee. There was only one schoold of magic that gave freedome from death.

When it was found out that Marius had delved into necromancy, the most forbidden of magic; he was removed from his field. Cast out from his promising career and any future he'd once imagined, Marius didn't regret his decision. He'd learned how to beat death. Now a physician for all things "unsavory," Marius meets a number of interesting patients. All aware and seeking the type of magic that Marius can provide.
