Good fucking question. They were born, that’s for sure, and it’s pretty well known that they were definitely a criminal for a while. Mauston used their good looks to seduce unsuspecting people and then, once the poor victims were tied to a bed, their wallets were stolen, along with any precious items- and then Mauston was into the wind. Monsters never caught them, either. The ONLY reason Mauston agreed to come to New Athens was to stay under the radar after a particularly risky attempt to steal something from a museum. Hermes would rather his child not get arrested.
