Reina was born as the third child of the Emperor Lysandre and the Empress Naerena of Laika. She thus wasn’t considered as an official heir of the throne, for this place belonged to her older brother Kaisar and her sister Elamon. 

Sadly, a terrible attack during a conference took the life of the sovereigns and the heirs present this day, as the lives of 30 other citizens and guards. Reina was only 13. She didn’t even had the time to grieve and had to decide if she assumed the throne or waited and see the country fall to the hands of corrupted politicians. Her choice was quickly made, even if it made her knees weak ; she would be the next empress. She had already that love of her country and subjects, and would not let it fall to greed. She is the youngest Empress in Laika’s history. Her coronation before she was even 14 earned her the sad nickname of ‘the Child Empress’, said nickname still stayed to her even after she grew. Even if the firsts months were difficult, Reina proved that she had too the education of an heir. She patiently earned the trust, then love and support of her people by being a far more attentionate and open-minded regent than her parents, but still mature despite her young age. She is very popular among young population, and way less among supremacists, who criticize her political choices. Reina quickly understood that she had to mentally grow faster if she wanted to survive the pressure generated by the responsibility. She loves dearly her people, and will do anything to assure their well being. She will learn the hard way that even with the best will of the world, she has to become as crafty as the other rulers, and that showing she too has power will often be the first way to get respected.

Reina stay nonetheless very fearful and anxious : she doubts  of her capacity to reign correctly (and if imperialism could still work in their actual society). Although she will be often tempted to give up her responsibility, she will realize that someone has to do it : magicians need someone to guide them ; it was Lliemthinan first mission, the empire was the solution they found. 

She’ll lately discover that every emperor and empress of Laika would have done anything to assure the protection and prosperity of Laika, and that underneath their reigns were far from being peaceful. 

Reina is athletic and don’t exempt herself from many painful training with the palace guards. She has a natural charisma, the kind of one where you get silent when she enters a room, regal and elegant. Her charge forces her to keep a mask of empress. Sadly, to conceal your own emotions too much, you forget how to properly express them. She often feels overhelmed just to know that there would be people dying for her ; she doesn’t accept it, it doesn’t feel right to her. 

Her political ways assure her many allies but also more enemies. And if a lot of assassination attempts against her get thwarted before they could happen, her guard commanders is still aware they can’t always protect her and that no security system is truly guaranteed. She masters the handling of the double-blade, Laika’s traditional weapon. Her magic power makes her a redoutable opponent. She is considered as one of the most powerful magicians (in manners of natural power). 

She will be the first Empress to marry someone of the same gender.

Even if she tries to keep her distances,  As she lost the essential of her family, Reina can’t help but feel a deep affection towards the guards and staff tending to her.
