Profile

Hephaestus was born under a different name to happy parents; however, his mother shortly died after his birth. His father became one trope I'm sure we all hate, "Father Blames Kid For Death Of Mother". He payed little attention to him during his first decade, leaving Hephaestus's brother to more or less care for him.

Like many Vedalken, Hephaestus enjoyed tinkering with several objects, trying to improve them in some way. After all, nothing was perfect; if you believed it was, then you simply don't yet know how to improve it. He also had quite the knack for tinkering too, and would sometimes impress others with his ideas.

A month after his 10th birthday, two Dwarves that happened to be passing by took notice of his talents, and offered to further his studies by personally teaching him. Hephaestus's father was more than happy to give him up, letting them take him away near immediately.

The two Dwarves took him far away, into a mountain called Thunder's Gauntlet. There he was enrolled in a clan - called Thunder's Forge - with many Dwarves, a couple Gnomes, and a Half-Orc. He was taught Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, Tinkering, and much more, for several decades.

Evidently he was one of the brightest, along side the Half-Orc. The leader decided to place them both in a special course, on top of their normal courses. The special course taught them how to make a new weapon, first created only a couple years earlier. This was, of course, a Gun. Or as they call it, a Thunder Cannon. They were also taught how to make some additional items, like bullets and an ammo box.

Finally, a few days after turning 53, Hephaestus left Thunder's Gauntlet with a helpful Wizard and his companions, donning the title 'The Gunsmith'. Some years later he decided on his new name, Hephaestus, leaving his past name behind him forever.

Since then he's been wandering the world, learning skills from different cultures to broaden his skills and crafts. He knows one day he'll return home, back to the Father that gave him away, but until then he will become better.

Hephaestus is calm and relaxed at almost all times. However, he will is easily excitable to new information regarding crafting, and loves receiving feedback on his creations. Especially criticism.
