Melia [Self Inserts] (Rune Factory)

• Melia has black hair with a blonde streak at their bangs, this blond streak can be on either side. It just has to be there.
• Melia has purple eyes, glasses, freckles, and face paint in the shape of a star over their right eye. The face paint is optional(although it's preferred) but the glasses and freckles are required.
• After spending some time in Selphia, Melia starts wearing a pink sapphire ring with a gold band around their neck as a necklace, this is a gift from Arthur. This is optional but preferred.
• Melia's clothing is usually black-white-purple-yellow/orange in color and it often has jagged stripe patterns or ending with things that mimic rabbit ears.
• The most optional thing about Melia's design is their equipment, they are more so for flavor than actual design quirks, however, drawing them with a cloak is most welcomed of the bunch.

The grandchild of one of the King's former chefs, Melia started life already somewhat outcasted due to their parents' situation, as they were born out of wedlock, their parents separating to only being friends and in different parts of Norad Melia often being swapped between them at different times. During their time at the capital, they eventually ran into a young Arthur, nervous at first due to his status, as they knew very well they'd be in trouble if someone found them interacting, and thinking he was going to treat them like everyone else that was soon proven wrong as they started to grow closer. Their time as semifriends was mainly just them enjoying the same space as each other and Arthur loving how adorable Melia's dog Mandy was. As to be expected, however, after Arthur's mother left the two drifted apart despite Melia's attempts to connect with him due to feeling similarly about their parent. While it seemed Melia was starting to make progress, they were forced to move and it would be many years before they'd see each other again.

As they settled in their place far from the kingdom Melia found themselves swarmed with bad luck. Deaths of family and ostracization from those around them leading them to rather dumb decisions which left them vulnerable to those with terrible intentions. Unfortunately, these events did occur on multiple occasions, their longest period of dealing with such matters being around three years. All of which find themselves at the center of their marriage events, Lost on You. Their most hard-hitting losses finding themselves in the forms of their grandfather and Mandy.

Despite their traumas and losses, Melia managed to find at least some people who understood them truthfully and something they wanted to strive for. Unfortunately for those in Selphia, this happened to be within a movement against the monarchy, a group of rebels who wished to bring down the king due to the injustices brought to their families. Melia knowing that their grandfather's death could have been prevented had it not been for who he was perceived to be based on his rank and more as well as having their family living on the edge of poverty most of their lives. Soon word spread of a monarch ruling over Selphia who wasn't related or chosen by the King and due to them being around the same age as the monarch and their charms. Melia was sent on an Airship to Selphia as a means of getting Selphia in on their movement as well.

Upon their arrival on top of meeting the player they were surprised to learn Arthur was in Selphia as well. While Melia did their best to keep up their act it was hard not to be awkward when faced with him, just like he was with them once it clicked. However, Melia pushed on with their mission, knowing a lot was hanging on it, even if it'd take a while surely. Currently where in Selphia Melia sleeps is unknown and inaccessible to the player until they get enough FP with them, after which point they will reveal to you where they have been staying clearing a path so the player can access the abandoned house Melia has taken over. Upon asking why Melia doesn't just take up actual space in town they avoid the question by simply stating that they didn't feel like it and quickly change the topic. Once married, Melia will move in with whoever their spouse is, but will often visit the abandoned house as "that's where their friends live." If one was to visit after this point, interactable monsters would be found roaming the property which do not fight the player and can not be fought.
