Profile

"I’m just the king, I won’t tell you what to do unless you ask me to."

The self-proclaimed King of the Wasteland; "King" Imsara is a charismatic but strange man living in an isolated stronghold, vehemently insistent he has no intention of commanding as a tyrant; he instead offers himself as a mediator and means to resolve conflict. Tends to give people second chances/trust when he shouldn't; a weird sort of idealist and relentlessly optimistic. Most people think he's either mad or kind of a shithead.

The Wasteland King is a character that adapts to whatever setting he's put in, but his physical traits will always revolve vaguely around 1.) Being a relentlessly good knife fighter and general physical combatant, 2.) having extremely acute vision of some kind, and 3.) being a crack shot with a sniper rifle as a result. In his main concept he's something like a super soldier; a genetically tweaked and highly trained operative created to be effective in the days immediately preceeding the fall of civilisation, who escaped his government and had something of a mental breakdown and rebirth as this strange man with his duality of order and chaos.

In most settings, the king has a daughter called Gem. Her mother is a rogue badass/criminal gang lord who had no intention of being saddled with a child, and Imsara very gladly took his daughter in. Gem's birth was the final point of contention that revealed their too starkly differing ideals, and Imsara and Gem's mother are no longer on good terms. Gem's age varies with setting but in the original concept she was around 4 years old. Imsara very carefully trains her in survival skills, as well as teaching her everything else he knows, and is somewhat overprotective of her physical wellbeing, preferring that she stays inside as safe as possible.

Regardless of setting, the king has an affinity for plants and crops. A strange contrast, seeing this wild, grinning, sharp-edged weirdo covered in dirt with his sleeves rolled up, or carefully measuring the acidity in the soil of his orange tree saplings.

The Wasteland King originated in a dream and since my dreams are apparently incapable of coming up with original faces, he looks kind of like Prince from the tv show Lexx.
