Fuvyn

Fuvyn; a Larvesta whose egg was found close to a sleeping volcano, causing it to miss out on heat essential to its species. The warmth it was provided after being found, was enough to get it to hatch, but the damage was already done. He gets cold very easily, which Shila solved (kinda) by spinning a String Shot-scarf and setting it on fire. The downside is that Fuvyn's hair is permanently singed short (luckily it doesn't smell burnt)
(That red/orange/yellow thing is supposed to be a fire-scarf, yes, I know, it's a smidge too low to fit like a scarf should.)

Appearance; Different from other Larvesta, Fuvyn's colours are all blue in nature, without any evidence of the Red/Brown colour palette of normal Larvesta. Its fur is a very light blue (reminiscent of Ice) with blue fire sprouts, blue-gray body and gray-blue paws. It is never seen without the fire scarf around its neck, both for sentimental reasons and out of necessity as he's perpetually cold (probably due to being found at the base of a sleeping volcano) and can't go outside without it. Even though the 'secret combination' that will keep his fur from simply being burned of has been found and keeps his fur save from the flames, the fur that came in direct contact with the flames was singed of, which means his fur doesn't grow beyond the start of the scarf.
Even though the colour changes can be attributed to a lack of heat during the egg stage, his red eyes indicate that even if the volcano hadn't stopped working, he might not have looked like a regular Larvesta... We may never know, though.

Background/personality; Fuvyn was one of the few Larvesta that came to the sanctuary as an egg, being found at the base a sleeping Volcano and being carried back. Despite being showered in heat once inside, the damage was already done. Aside from the colour differences, Fuvyn is also unable to keep himself warm, which used to severely limit his movements, as he couldn't risk going outside and being caught by rain. Finding a solution that would restore some freedom was a long and hard journey. Normal scarfs didn't give the heat necessary. It didn't matter if they were made with mareep wool, Mamoswine fur or Stoutland fur and even a combination of it didn't cut it; none of them survived the additional fire to bridge the gap. Continuously 'attacking' Fuvyn with fire attacks had been considered and even tried for a very short while, but an unending stream of fire asked too much of the assigned fire pokémon and limited their own freedom a lot. Luckily, it turned out that String Shot from a Larvesta could resist fire a lot better, probably because it's part fire type, and it could be used to form a fire scarf.
No matter how much he'd like to make the scarf himself and not depend on another pokémon to make it for him, Fuvyn is unable to use fire attacks, which further explains why he can't keep himself warm.
It's usually made by Shila, who 'knits' it with her String Shot and infuses it with ember, making the string hot to the touch and act as a wick. Once it's knitted completely, she finished it of with a final full strength ember to set it aflame properly once around Fuvyn's neck. Once properly lit and around the neck, the scarf tends to stay lit anywhere from 3 to 7 days, depending on the weather and how active Fuvyn was.
Partially because of his appearance, Fuvyn isn't the most social nor active Larvesta at the sanctuary, sometimes even bordering on anti-social. While he can go outside, thanks to the fire scarf (which he'll be eternally grateful for), he's not the biggest fan of taking risks with the scarf, as it going out would also limit others' freedom (and especially Shila's). He isn't really all that bothered by it, though, prefering long leisurely walks and observing the changes of the world rather than running from point A to point B (and back) without any real purpose. This does not mean he'll shy away from others; he's always happy to engage in conversation/discussion if other pokémon feel so inclined and doesn't mind additional company on his walks. There's a special place in his heart for Shila, which she conquered by her undying resolve to give Fuvyn back his freedom and ended with the scarf. As such, he'll accept more 'annoying' behavior from Shila than from someone else, even though it's very hard to get on his bad side.
Don't challenge him to a race or speak ill of Shila where he can hear and you probably won't get on his bad side.

He's one of the larger Larvesta at the sanctuary, which Shila tends to take advantage of, being one of the smaller around. It's not that unusual a sight to see Shila riding around on Fuvyn's back during his walks [and whoever else decided to join], pretending to work on his scarf. While he doesn't mind this, as it allows him to spend some time with her doing something they both enjoy, he's not above teasing her when she's on his back, by pretending to try and shake her of. He'll refrain doing so if she fell asleep, though. Fuvyn will never wake up a sleeping pokémon, even if he's being used as a pillow.
