• Espee is a first-generation chimera, born from a union between a dragon and a pegasi.
• His parents wanted a girl so badly they gave him a girl's name, forced him to wear dresses, and otherwise refused to acknowledge - or let him acknowledge - the fact that he was male, not female.
• He goes by Espee, at first because it was his way of reclaiming himself from the false name he was given, and even after being able to legally change his name continued to go by Espee because by then it was a representation of who he was. Espee, a boy. Not Esperanza, the daughter who never truly existed.
