Khaso

Darkness embodied, using his powers to guide those that are lost.

Long ago a man came to save the world. He harbored the powers of light and shined it upon everyone graciously, bestowing upon them wisdom and kindness.
In the distance, however, a wicked king cowered from the light. His heart full of fury and envy, he took the powers of darkness for himself. And with a mighty weapon at hand, he struck down the light, eliminating him from the world.
But everyone had watched, and they had seen the truth. They cast out the cruel king, exiling him from his land, from the world! He was forever known as the Evil King and disappeared into the shadows, never seen again.

At least, that's how the legend goes.

The "corrupt" king had been gifted the powers of darkness to fight the light, whose main goal was to wipe out all existence. Knowing full well he would be seen as evil, the king carried out his mission and struck down his friend. When peace began coming back to the world, he slipped into the shadows in order to convince everyone that his family was not involved with his "evil deeds".
Immortal, and with the power of darkness at his hand, he takes over as his predecessor did and watches over all life, maintaining balance.

Notes: I've always had the idea of Roy sticking around and replacing Lan for ages. This poor guy has to hide in the shadows because everyone thinks he's a big ole monster when it was the opposite the entire time. As much as it sucks, I always liked that concept- the hero is treated as the villain and vice versa.
My original idea was to have him as just a mysterious, masked silhouette, but then I wanted something more... I guess... detailed? I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, so I looked through adopts and found this one! Perfect color scheme and even featured lamps!

Personality: Being a vessel for an entire element, Khaso is a bit more duty-bound than in his previous life. With more responsibility, he's very careful with his decisions and movements. He's become an expert at multitasking and hardly gets overwhelmed. He does try to act as his predecessor by acting as a mentor to others when they need some guidance, though is not nearly as good at it. With plenty of humanity and awkwardness left in him, Khaso is friendlier than Lan used to be, and is more personal when giving advice.

Non-Human Abilities:
- Darkness - Being the embodiment of the element itself, he can freely control it. He tends to solidify the shadows into spikes that shoot out of the ground at rapid speeds, although that is the only attack anyone has ever seen him use. He also tends to use his powers to form shields around people (they can range in height and width but can very much be broken).
- Shadows - Wherever there is darkness and shadows, Khaso can see/hear through. He often uses this to observe the life, judging when to step in or not. He can only move and/or teleport where there are shadows and darkness.
- Lamps - There are often a couple lamps floating around Khaso, though he can summon more. Much like a crystal gem, he can look into the fire and see something in particular he wishes to, as long as they are in the darkness' reach. He can even show others what he'd like if they stare through the lamps' fire.

Voice: A gentle tenor that can easily command respect when needed; David Stanbra

Drawing Details: Just a big ole fancy guy with dark colors. His hair has grown long, to just the end of his back. He has one black wing on his left side. Biggest details would be the lamps that float around him.

Fun/Extra Facts:

- His wife knows full well that he's not truly evil, but under his advice she tells everyone that she had been fooled and tricked in order to make her and their kids not suspicious. 

- Whenever she's free, Khaso likes to pop out of the shadows to visit her. Sometimes he'll take her away on dates.

- Still enjoys Hot Pockets.

- The air gets colder when he's approaching.

- His lamps appear before he does.

- He helps his kids and descendants throughout their adventures, but never reveals that they're his blood relatives.

- Doesn't ever wield his old sword due to not wanting his descendants to realize they're related.
