Northwest of the Directors | she/her

Goblins and Humans had only made peace a few years ago, after the Gold Rush caused huge fights between settlers and resident Goblins in the Rockies and beyond. A young Iron Goblin working as a ranger at a preservation area in the mountains was on night duty without a flashlight when she was accidentally shot by a human visitor to the park. Yet instead of dying, she found herself alive and more powerful than ever.

Northwest is the newest member of the Directors, a group of psychopomps who each control the souls of other members of their species and the wind that is their namesake. Blessed with such immense power, Northwest is overwhelmed but very excited to learn. She has a natural drive for justice and seemingly unmesurable enthusiasm. She throws herself into new experiences but is easily frustrated when whatever new she's doing becomes challenging or difficult. Northwest really wants to make a good impression on her new co-workers, but they've never worked with an autistic Director before, and aren't used to her easily-trigger emotions and sensory needs. Still, Northwest isn't giving up on becoming a really stellar psychopomp, and isn't too prideful to advocate for herself when she needs help.

As a Psychopomp, Northwest has power over the northwest wind. She can travel around the world almost instantanelously by merging with the wind. She can also summon a scythe; her's is made of iron, and it has magnetic properties. She can cloak herself using the special gem on her jacket, but in general she's only visible to other Goblins.

As a Goblin, Northwest is physically strong and sturdy. Her scorpion-like tail isn't poisonous, but is useful as a bludgeon. Her claws, talons and teeth are all very sharp, and she can see well in the dark. Iron Goblins are the least sophisticated and powerful of the Goblin subtypes, so her special abilities mostly come from her psychopomp powers.

At her best, Northwest is determined, creative and enthusiastic. At her worst she's annoying, moody or too overwhelmed to act. Her favorite stims are flapping, pressure stiming with heavy rocks, and vocalizing loudly.
