"Ah.. please shut up and respect your elders."

Zēng Xūn Qíng was born from a cherry tree into the human world as a dragon sakuramimi. Being a young and new being he had no clue of what to do and spent his first few days wandering the surrounding area. He ended up in a rural dragon village where the small but main populace tucked in the forestry and land dragons of ShùHuáng. There he was raised by an elderly grandma for a handful of years. However, curiosity and wanderlust tempted the small dragon elsewhere.

Not too fond to confine himself to just the small dragon village, Zēng Ái trekked outwards, undisguised and unaware of the necessity for dragons to disguise themselves when in human territory. Eventually rumors had soon spread that a mythical dragon was wandering around town and a disguised god while on their travels discovered that child. He was then taken to the heavens by Qīng Xīn (清心), the deity of love. She ended up deciding to take care of and provide for the young dragon child thinking of them as a way to past time and perhaps a unique display. He had spent the first 200 years of his life building connections with the major gods and minor gods of heaven. He was taught alongside ascended gods and cultivators. As his connections grew and his skills too, Xūn Qíng was well-liked within the heavens and was nicknamed the “sweetheart of the heavens”.

Quickly, the child brought up to the heavens’ popularity began to surpass the deity’s who brought them up. Wanting to easily deal with this issue without error, Qīng Xīn sent the minor god to the mortal realm. Under the reason for occupying them in simple and rather petty methods. Taking on a human form, the god descended to the capital disguised as a foreign scholar from the west.

The word on the street became that there was a talented scholar from an unheard-of region throughout the capital. After a week had passed, the word had spread to the palace. Hearing of this news the curious crown prince of the country invited the scholar to the palace to hold a lecture about their foreign region from which they came. Under the guise, “To better and expand trade routes along with relations with possible foreign allies.” The prince’s courtesy name was Huān Xī (欢希) of the Lài (賴) royal family. Soon after that meeting, the relation between Xūn Qíng and the crown prince started to bloom.

Having found a liking in the lecturer, the prince thought to convince Xūn Qíng to enroll as one of the government officials. Only after a year had the scholar managed to be convinced and become apart of the palace system. Over the span of four years, the disguised dragon worked his way up to become the crown prince’s most trusted official, in both name and relations. It was roughly around this time that the dragon fell for the prince... After the emperor died, Huān Xī succeeded the crown at age 25. With this succession, he promoted Zēng Xūn Qíng to the prime minister of the country. Their romantic relationship began to build and assemble by then. Although, being of age and without an heir, Huān Xī started being pressured by the royal court and others to start considering a wife. The emperor had an affair with the prime minister, and hence, had always denied any interest in settling down. But after 5 years, the king settled and finally picked a wife.

Of course, the prime minister wasn’t happy with this decision. And the queen wasn’t either hearing that the emperor was bedding the prime minister. In terms of looks, Xūn Qíng would win being a god with youthful beauty, but he wasn’t the one who had his name documented in marriage. For the yearly report that year, the deity discussed his “situation” with the deity of love. Eloquently debating how “the queen can go [redacted] and [redacted], along with [redacted].” Hearing this situation, the other deity was intrigued by the young god’s affairs and suggested that he should deal with the matter properly and to not use his power as a god for his own benefits. So simply, the prime minister bullied and harrassed the queen in mortal ways.

The Emperor was ultimately conflicted about what he should do upon realizing that Xūn Qíng was harassing his queen, as he knew that the dragon had such a character. But when it came down to morals, Huān Xī ended up cutting ties with the dragon. Feeling utterly betrayed, he felt a strong ambition that day for revenge, and that exact day, he executed it. Zēng Xūn Qíng assassinated his first love. He set the royal chambers on fire with a fine and satisfying spell he learned from the Fire Deity: watched as the emperor and empress’s life burned up. Allowing himself to start corrupting into a korosaku in the process.

The prime minister disappeared after the death of Huān Xī and was called back to the Heavens to be banished to the mortal realm after killing innocent mortals. He was supposed to be dealt a punishment of death, but being remembered as the “kind sweetheart of the heavens,” many were still in disbelief at if such a “kindhearted deity” could carry out such an action.

Descending for the final time, Xūn Qíng wandered around the palace for a final round before departing to die... until he was stopped by Huān Xī’s younger brother. The mortal was next in line for the crown, after his brother was assassinated, and even knowing that the murderer who did the deed was in front of him, the latter asked for Zēng Xūn Qíng to watch over the Lài dynasty for generations to come. Xūn Qíng had agreed to the deal, as it would give him a chance to watch over and protect his deceased lover’s bloodline and legacy. It was in Huan Xi’s brother’s interest to rise to power, being casted in the latter’s shadow for all of his life. He had always searched for a chance to take the crown, and in his eyes, this foolish deity had just made it easier for him.

After 12 generations, the dragon had no thought to protect the mediocre and unreasonable ruler of the 15th. Deciding to not defend the takeover of another kingdom, he watched and observed with a stone in his heart as the end of the bloodline ran to its end.

Seeing that his job was over, at the age of 500, the god traveled the human realm for a century, adapting and learning cultures and languages of many. From north, south, east and west, Xūn Qíng wandered across the capitals and countries as a passing merchant. When he made the way around, he ended up back where he originally left.

In a fairly crowded bar, in the peak of night. There, Xūn Qíng met Méi Lánhuā and it was to fate that he could never get rid of him.

《 Sociable | Eloquent | Ambitious 》
《 Snide | Narcissist | Manipulative 》

Zēng Xūn Qíng was born an obedient child, with a pure and true mischievous side. He’s sociable and able to easily connect allowing him the ability to relate to others. Being raised amongst gods, the dragon earned an eloquent and fluent tongue since youth with the capability to smartly state a well-studied case to smoothly bullshit through an excuse picked from the trash. He’s extremely ambitious and will always aim to get his hands on the intended goal. Xūn Qíng’s used to getting what he wants through his personal efforts. Once he sets his eyes onto something he wants, he lacks the will to pull away from it until he gets it. Although, once he’s become tired with it, he had no problem discarding it.

He was loved for his smart tongue, but truly, if he had allowed his true and unfiltered snideness to show to the other deities he would be banished for slander under a unanimous vote. Xūn Qíng’s ambitions to attain whatever he wants allows him to utilize his manipulative side. His biggest flaw is that he is someone who never thinks further ahead then the goal, while tending to only bathe in the moment. Contributing to the issue, because of his narcissism at his own skill and accomplishments, he believes that he’s above and can overcome damning consequences. But the higher you rise, the higher you fall.

Skills:

  • Quick Adaptability -- Ever since birth, Xūn Qíng has been thrown in various situations and has a quick and sharp way of adapting to things, known or unknown.
  • Grand cultural and lingual knowledge -- He spent a century traveling across land and sea, the dragon has picked up many languages and learned many cultures along his way.
  • Excellent Diplomacy -- He’s worked to sort issues among the heavens and worked as a prime minister for a decade. To break a deal, or to cut one, he’s top tier to get what’s needed.
  • Quick Learner -- Be it the roots of languages or even instruments, Xūn Qíng is quick to take hold of those subjects and log it within his memory. Although he tends to be rusty with different things as he rarely focuses and specializes on an individual subject, but is instead an intermediate at many.
  • Seduction -- A skill used to gather intel and blackmail easily without getting his hands dirty or to simply bed your ancestors with. He’s not likely to resort to the former unless his stalking doesn’t derive any critical intel.
  • Stealth -- Dedicating almost half of his lifetime guarding a family’s legacy without their knowledge throughout generations, he’s gained and strengthened his skills at stealth. Though, in short, he’s a great stalker.
  • Assassination -- With the ability to kill efficiently combined with his skill of stealth, he’s easily able to take advantage of this skill. He prefers long distance sniping with spiritual bullets. The dragon prefers to keep his kills clean and silent.
  • Natural Actor -- Xūn Qíng is experienced at playing different characters and has a skill for assuming a convincing and comfortable character to allow others to trust him more.
  • Quick Regeneration -- Whenever he earns a wound, it quickly gets covered in his red-white scales to soothe and heal the injury quickly and without leaving any scars. In short, his scales have efficient healing properties and can also be used on others.
  • Petal Based Spiritual Spells -- His spiritual skills are mainly catalyzed through his loose petals, and it’s a necessary base for any of his spells. He tends to play around with his spells usually creating unique weapons using his flower petals combined with his spiritual energy. At times he does prefer to entertain himself or others with light magic tricks as well.
    • If he uses any of his wilted petals for the spell be it accidentally, it will end up backfiring and harming him in the process.

Additional Notes:

  • He has the ability to hide his dragon features while in human form, as they tend to be inconvenient at times.
  • He has the ability to change the appearance of his age, be it older or younger to make it easier to blend in with different demographics when needed; although his aging did halt naturally at 23.
  • He has a dragon form, but he doesn’t change into it unless it’s to conserve spiritual energy.
    • He frequents the form of a small dragon (~6 inches big), but it makes his vulnerable. He refuses to be a mount, so don’t ever expect him to change to a size that makes it possible.
    • With his dragon stats, his speed and strength stats are switched around.
  • Please do not touch his tail unless he gives’ permission; keep your hands to yourself, or you will be whacked by it.
  • Not often does he pull out his own scales for other people, because the pain’s equivalent to pulling out teeth.
  • He’s adept at using the brush, and to find a string of words to invoke whatever emotions. It’s used to send flowery messages to practical smut, really depends on what he’s feeling here.
  • He’s compiled too many titles over the years to actually go by any.
  • Xūn Qíng gets jealous quite easily and will take drastic measures beyond reasonability if he gets emotionally wounded: History repeats itself.
  • Closed Species Additional Notes
    • Despite having started the process of “corrupting” he has never fully corrupted.
    • He leaves a trail of flower blossoms when he walks. The old trails will disappear, and new ones will appear.

梅兰花 (Méi Lánhuā)

husband ] "Clingy men aren't my type..." Yet there's not a day where Xūn Qíng wouldn't love Lánhuā unconditionally. To fret and worry about appearances to an enormous degree where Xūn Qíng comes off as a bit too cold, a good fraction of his cold demeanor is melted away and replaced with a daydreaming maiden with Lánhuā's presence.
