Kane (Ask) Beckett, 32, He/Him, Silent & Haunted:
A novelist trying to grapple with the task of finishing their latest story but not quite getting it to where he feels it needs to be. He wants to feel the way he did when writing for his first book ever published; His hopes and dreams riding on a single stack of script. Nothing to lose but so much to gain.
Kane is considered, by most peoples' standards, a recluse but he never saw it that way. It wasn't that he didn't want to be around people it is just that he can't. The closest he comes is sitting in the furthest corner booth of The Midnight Bite, a little more crowded than he is used to but manages to fade into the background.
Kane themselves isn't "supernatural" as opposed to supernatural things happening to him instead.
He has the ability to see spirits but their forms are indistinguishable from real living people; However that makes it near impossible to tell a difference even when speaking to them. The only true way to tell would be to touch them and if he did that it wouldn't end very well. *The before-death façade is broken and he can see exactly how they died and most often it isn't pretty. There is also a chance the deceased can attach themselves to him and he would rather not have that happen...
Kane has no desire to help the spirits he sees and instead just avoids all interactions with everyone to be safe. When you can't tell you are talking to a ghost why talk at all?
