Jade Hartz (born July 24th, 2001) is an American jockey in Youth Thoroughbred horse racing. Over the years she has developed a bit of a cult following due to her unbeaten record of straight wins.Â
Background
Born in New Jersey city, Hartz has been racing professionally since the age of 15. She learned to ride there in a state-sponsored program for children in foster care.
Hartz is the daughter of indie musician Jason Yu. Residing in New Jersey, Hartz was raised in a single parent household most of her life. Nothing is known about her mother; Hartz declines to comment when asked.Â
It is known Hartz suffers from a barrage of medical conditions, and has had to skip races due to flares. Most notably receiving a heart transplant in the summer of 2014.Â
Hartz is the chairman of the youth committee for adolescent riders. She is known for her ambitious go-get-em attitude, but people have claimed she can be hard to work with.Racing Career
