"Kazunari is my property. He's everything I have. I won't let anyone take him away from me."        -Kiss

"Those brats..."     -Kiss

Kisuke, known as Kiss, is one of Akumu's spirits. He's the 5th spirit.

His main role is being a supporting healer, though he can adopt a defensive role.

ABILITIES: Kiss has a power that can accelerate the processus of healing to heal his allies faster. When he does, his horns and hands shines in red. In general, that's the only power his allies know, because he hides the others.

He can also do the reverse processus, and make his opponents rot. Tho, it uses more energy than the original processus, so he doesn't use it often.

He hides that he can be an attacker by turning into his demon form. When he does, his eyes turn into dark red and the bottom of his hair is set in fire. His limbs become faster and stronger and turns into red. He can create and aspire fire from his hand palms.

PERSONNALITY: Kiss is a calm young man. One of his many hobbies is reading. He's very curious and rational, and when he doesn't get something he will do researches to understand.

He has an easy personnality and can get along with many people. Before Darkneel Shaker arrived, he used to hang out a lot with Ria. He acts sweet and tries to chat with people in general when he sees they're lonely, but he's also a loner and is awkward around people. He's usually kinder with girls. He won't admit it but he enjoys sleeping. He's extremely disciplined and is always nervous when it comes to betrayal. He is a fair person, and doesn't like to fight. He hates acting childish, and avoids everything that could make him act or think like a kid.

He pretends he doesn't know how to cook to avoid being in contact with fire. He also pretends he hates cold and humidity, and that's why he never takes his hat off.

Looks like Kiss is never really worried about his allies, even if they are extremely wounded. Tho, he takes his role very seriously and always takes care of them with calm. He's sometimes upset when they get hurt too often, for example in the same morning or afternoon.

BACKGROUND (MORTAL LIFE): His mother has always been depressive, and she was a postpartum victim. He spent his childhood living with his grandmother, which was his father's mother, because her mother refused to see him. Kisuke was a stressful and quiet child, extremely fearful and crybaby. He remembers seeing photos of his mother having beautiful golden hair just like him, but he doesn't remember anything else. His father was a first trying to be the kinder possible, but after some years, he started to drink due to his wife's depression that was rather hard to cure. Kisuke remembers a drinking father, hitting him when he was too loud or playing around, so he used to stay quiet without doing anything not to upset his father.

When he reached 4, his grandmother died. His father took Kisuke with him and it occured he had another girlfriend, while his wife was still hospitalized because of her depression. That girlfriend, named Ayumi, took care of Kisuke, and treated him like he truly was his child. It probably was one of his most beautiful moments in his life; his father was nice again, his new mother was adorable and they were happy all three.

When he reached 5, Kazunori has been born. Kisuke immediatly became over-protective over him and wanted to take care of him all the time.

When he reached 8, Kisuke had the authorization to meet his mother. He made the promise not to talk about Ayumi, and went to the hospital to see her with his father. He talked about stuff, excited and happy, but he had the impression his mother wasn't paying attention. Kisuke continued talking, and when it comes about Kazunori, he's been slapped by his mother. He's been ordonned to leave the room, heared his parents violently arguing and when his father left the room, he's been slapped again. The little boy didn't get it at all, and started to cry, while his father screamed at him. He's been punished while months into his room.

One night, the little boy surprised a violent arguing between Ayumi and his father, because the man was becoming alcoholic again. Furious, Kisuke's father threw his glass of wine on Ayumi. The girl left the house, screaming and crying, and Kisuke never saw her again. She left them. Trembling with fear, Kisuke stayed there without knowing what to do. He watched his father smoking, and then when the ashes fell, the carpet was set in fire, making Kisuke startle. If the boy was a first fearful, then he watched the carpet burning with interest. His father quickly extinguished the fire. That image stayed in Kisuke's mind for a long time.

Weeks later, Kisuke and his brother has been sent in an orphanage. His father has been murdered by Kisuke's mother while he was visiting her. The woman killed him by dragging him out of the window, and right after she jumped out of the window as well. Kisuke didn't realize what happened at that moment, and just understood his father got killed. He was relieved to be free from him, because he was becoming creepier day by day. He also understood that his biological mother was killed, but he never considered her like his mother - instead, he was truly considering Ayumi like his true mother and was depressed since she left them, hoping each day she comes back. But he was glad he could stay with his brother even at the orphanage.

The first months at the orphanage were pretty hard for the young boy that was almost 9. He couldn't see his brother very often because Kazunori reached the age to go at the school, he had to help the adults for the corvees, and was being bullied by the others boys. He was pretty popular towards girls, and that's probably why the others boys hated him so much. He quickly got used to that, but it was still tiring and annoying. He was trying to live his life the more normal possible and to forget about his family, excepting his beloved brother. Kazunori was everything he had left.

When Kazunori reached 6 (Kisuke was 11), the bully started for the boy. Kazunori was a mere boy like the others, but he was frail, weak, quiet and shy, and that amused the others children. At first, they started teasing him for fun, and it quickly bullied him. Kisuke knew that after 3 months, and got upset against himself and enraged against the bullies. While weeks, he was walking his brother home to protect him, but Kazunori told him it wasn't necessary and that was embarrassing, so Kisuke stopped. During that time, Kisuke was collectionning every lighter he could find. He even stole some. He had a passion for the fire, and was deeply insisting each time to help at the orphanage with the cooking. He was playing with fire and was experiencing everything that could blaze. Kazunori was particulary afraid of those habits, but never told him. Kisuke was even making researches on how to blaze, to make things explose and set fire to everything; he had a deep interest in it, and even the adults started to think it was weird, but Kisuke kept doing it.

When Kisuke reached 12, he learned how to fabricate a molotov cocktail. Insane, Kisuke wanted to fabricate one. At least one. After that, he would stop, for sure. He needed to experience that, at least once. Kisuke stole money from the orphanage. He was taking every bottles people was throwing, and kept them with him. After some weeks, he was finally done. Everything was ready. Kisuke left at night, so he would be sure no one could see him, and he bought gasoil. He was panicked someone could see him, so he did it the faster possible. After that, he went back home and hid it in his room. He was afraid of being discovered because of the smell; he hid it like he could, and some children noticed the smell, but the adults didn't care. At least he was safe for this part. The adults screamed because someone stole the money, but Kisuke acted like it wasn't him. Acting like a victim. He was quite skilled at doing that, to be honest, and it succeded. Kisuke waited some days before experiencing. He waited the week-end and created his first molotov cocktail. Kazunori didn't know about it. Kisuke went out late in the afternoon, and chosed a lonely alley. He already have created his bottle, so he put the tissue in fire, and waited. He waited that it's been consumed, while he was stepping back with caution. He was 10m away from the bottle when it suddenly explode. Kisuke startled and fell on his buttocks. His first reflex would be to run away, but he was fascinated by the fire. A smile drew on his face, he started to chuckle quietly, his limbs were warm, his chin was shaking with stupefaction. He made it! The fire... The flames were dancing in front of him. Kisuke was more interested into the flames than the damages he caused around. People started to scream all around him, but he didn't pay attention. He couldn't get up. At that moment, Kisuke thought he was high, great, awesome, and an instant joy filled his chest, until he cleared his mind. Fear came; he had to get away from here. He ran away as fast he could, but he was still proud of himself.

Kisuke did it many times in the next three months. The quarter was becoming even more suspicious about those explosions. Kisuke stopped doing it after his 4th time, because he was afraid to get suspected. He continued stealing the orphanage; the first time he did it, he was panicked, and prayed for not being cought. But the next times, he was becoming so well skilled at it that he was never being discovered. Kazunori suspected Kisuke even more than the others adults. He told him to stop, he begged him and cried, but Kisuke couldn't; he was having fun. He got used to, and started to think it was the only way to have fun. Kazunori started to fear Kisuke at times, and Kisuke tried to act cooler to calm down his brother. He couldn't lose his only family. So he tried to act the more normal possible with the others, especially around Kazunori.

After that, he stayed calm for a while, until the fact that Kazunori was still bullied came to him. It's not like Kisuke have entirely forgotten, but he was more preoccupied by his own experiences that he had momentarily forget. And anger came into him; a poor and mere child couldn't annoy his dear brother. He also blamed himself for having forgotten, and his envy of setting something in fire burned his fingers. He never tried it. Never. Because it was bad, probably. But Kisuke thought about it another time, and told to himself that making explosions was already a bad thing. How bad could he be? He could be even worse. Kisuke wanted to try. He broke his own limits and started to think about how to have revenge on those brats that were annoying his beloved sibling. He stayed quiet and didn't say anything to his brother, and never showed to him any sign that could betray him. When he tried it for the first time, Kisuke was truly fearful. He was afraid it couldn't work, and that he could be caught. He succeded staying cool, and sprinkle the brat with gasoil. It was a mere child; he was dark-haired, brown-eyed and he was around 10. On the top of his 13, Kisuke set the boy in fire and enjoyed that.

Kisuke started to fear himself. He was happy his experience worked, but he started to fear that he couldn't stop himself. He wanted to set those brats in fire, more. Not only to protect Kazunori; for having fun. He was spending his whole time drawing situations where he could put fire and make explosions. The boy knew he have reached the limits, more than once. But Kisuke was weak against pleasure. He wanted to feel joy, and amusement - because his life was boring. The only joy he could feel was being with Kazunori, something really rare because the boy was strangely avoiding him. Kisuke skipped classes to stalk his brother and to protect him. Kisuke also started to fight against the bullies - they were only 8 or 9 - and became confident in fighting. He was having fun fighting, but it was less fun than making things explode and setting fire to everything. He was fighting the bullies before they could reach Kazunori, and considered that was the first warning towards them; then he was setting them in fire if they were coming again. Kisuke surprisingly never got caught. He was also killing the eventual witnesses peeking over them. Kisuke felt like he was invincible.

Kazunori didn't want to face his brother anymore. He avoided him more than he (Kazunori) even expected. He was avoiding eye contacts, and was always away from him. His few friends were always around him and Kisuke couldn't approach him, and that truly broke his heart. Kisuke started crying, getting mad, getting depressed and agressive. He wrote letters to Kazunori to apologize for whatever, was trying to approach him during months, but the boy never replied back to him and was still getting away further day by day. Kazunori even told his friends to protect him from his brother. Kisuke got mad and grabbed one of the friends. He hit him; told him not to fuck wih him, and to give Kazunori back because he was his property. He released the boy after a while. Mad, angry, upset, enraged, sick, saddened, mentally tortured, Kisuke locked himself in his room and drew. He drew for days, crying and sobbing, praying, begging for his brother to come back. He didn't want him to leave him like the others. He needed him. No one could love Kazunori as much as him. Kisuke wasn't feeling joy anymore, even thinking at fire was torturing him. The only think he could think of was his brother; his brother was everything. He would do anything for him, any sacrifices. Everything was worth. Kisuke made up his mind quickly. His brother was his. Nobody could take him away from him. Kisuke didn't have anyone left but Kazunori. Kisuke wanted his brother back.

Kisuke left his room and the day that followed, he waited for Kazunori's friend. It didn't matter which. Kazunori had to know. He had to know that Kisuke was caring; that he was dying for him. Kisuke grabbed Kazunori's friend after they all separate, and hit him. The child was quite strong, and fight back; Kisuke was trying his best, and he was dominant for sure, but he suddenly started to cry in the middle of the fight. He threw the young boy against the wall, and started to scream at him. What did he know? About him? About his brother? Was he wrong? Why was Kazunori avoiding him? Kisuke was extremely sad and confused and couldn't calm down. With a face full of tears, he fell on his knees and started to mope. The child took this instant of weakness as a chance and ran away from him. Kisuke cleared his mind only 10 min after he escaped, and severely blamed himself from being such a moron. He hit the wall with force, and continued sobbing. Another kid caught him crying, and approached him. She asked him if he was fine, and Kisuke, completely out of him, grabbed her and threw her against the wall. He switched on his lighter and anger overwhelmed him. Kisuke knew that kid had nothing to do with Kazunori and his friends, but he was mad and he wanted to express his rage. The kid cried, screamed, but the young man gagged her and threw gasoil on her. Kisuke didn't feel any pity or compassion. He put her in fire and watched her burn. After some minutes, he ran away and went back home.

The next day, Kisuke skipped classes and spent his day drawing. He didn't want to go to school. He was heartbroken and mentally weak. He pretended he was sick and everyone believed him. Kisuke was well skilled at pretending being a victim. He had the surprising visite of Kazunori. His chest was fulfilled with joy and hope, and he got up suddenly with a sparkle in his eyes. The tears started to roll on his cheeks and he wanted to hug Kazunori, but the boy dodged him and looked at him with a mixture of fear and anger. Kisuke was way too blind to notice it, and stupidly smiled. He told him he was happy to see him, and that he loves him more than anything, and that he was glad he's back. Kazunori sighed and looked away. Kisuke lost his smile, and the fear overwhelmed him. Kazunori didn't come here to greet him, or something like that. What did he do? Kisuke felt like he was gonna be scold by his 'father', and he started trembling with fear at this memory.

"Don't hurt my friends again. That is an order. Please, Kisuke."

Everything around crambled and turned into ashes. Kazunori was rejecting him. He called him Kisuke, like they weren't brothers anymore. Like they were nothing but strangers. Why did he do that? Were those cute nicknames now reserved to his friends? And were his friends more important than his own brother existence? Jealousy possessed Kisuke, that started to cry. He silently nodded without saying anything else than a "sorry", and Kazunori left. Kisuke never cried as much as that night. He felt sorrow deep inside him, but his fists were crackling with jealousy, envy and fury and rage. Kisuke was trying his best, and he was still being rejected. The only person meant for him on earth was rejecting him. Kisuke felt like his torso was torned apart and like knives were digging into his skin. He blamed himself a lot, called himself trash, garbage and stuff, and mutilated himself with a knife in his arms. He spent the whole night crying, unable to understand the reason of his brother's rejection. Kisuke was feeling alone, abandoned, homeless, senseless, and couldn't get the meaning of his life anymore. He couldn't sleep because of the deep pain in his arms and into his heart. In the morning, Kisuke hid and bandaged his wounds and acted like nothing happened. He smiled to the adults and to his pretended friends and went to school like everyday. Nothing had changed, but Kisuke was more depressed than anything. He was fighting against the exhaustion and the pain. He had enough. He wanted to head back home as soon as possible.

He went back home alone, as usual - but this loneliness, at that moment, started to put pressure on him. He was feeling so bad he wanted to disappear. He was feeling useless and the pain was tiring him. Suddenly he's been hit by someone; he didn't have the time to understand what happened, when he felt sudden pain in his stomach. Kisuke coughed up blood; he looked up and saw a young boy, with dark hair and yellow, shiny eyes. The boy gagged him up and Kisuke was debating but couldn't get away. He started to panick, his whole body was shaking and he was becoming pale because of the lack of oxygen. The yellow-eyed boy stared at him with hatred. Kisuke stared back: the boy was only 10, maybe less. How could he? The boy started to talk and told him he was revenging for an old friend Kisuke murdered. Murdered? Kisuke panicked even more. Then he thought about the people he set in fire. Was it that? Revenge? Who? Kisuke wondered, but he couldn't speak, so he remained quiet while the pain grew inside of him. The blood was flowing through his mouth all over his chin, neck and soon torso. He closed his eyes according to the pain and the tiredness, and the only think he could think of was Kazunori. His body has been throwed all of a sudden and his head hit the ground; he could breathe again but he didn't have the time to. The dark-haired boy hit him in the head against the wall with his foot, and continued while talking to him. He was saying things like, he couldn't forgive him, and stuff. Kisuke didn't pay attention. He gave up. He let the pain overwhelms him, and stared at the end of the alley. Was it like that when he was setting people in fire? No one was there, just like now. And they couldn't talk because Kisuke was gagging them. So he deserved it, right? Kisuke had accepted what he deserved. He started crying; they weren't tears of despair but more tears of relievement. He felt like he was gonna be free, at last - but Kazunori was still coming in his mind. How would he react? He looked like he was very stressful last time. Kisuke wanted to apologize again to him. Regrets, reluctance to death came to him. The boy continued hitting him, harder and rougher.

Suddenly, a silhouette appeared in the end of the alley. Kisuke's brother silhouette. Kisuke couldn't believe his eyes. The hope grew into him, through the pain, the reluctance of death, the fear and the sadness; Kisuke tried to get up and to scream but the dark-haired boy crushed his head against the wall. Kisuke let out a quiet moan of pain. He was bleeding everywhere, and was seeing nothing around him but blood. His body was shaking and he couldn't get up, or even crawl. He felt weak and useless. Kazunori's voice was ringing in his ears, and the tears flooded even more. He said he's gonna save Kisu-chan, that the boy should stop or he's gonna warn the police. His voice was shaking but Kisuke thought that was cute, and reckless. In the deep darkness and despair he was, Kisuke chuckled, and through his tears and the pain he whispered a thanks. He wasn't hoping that Kazunori could get it, but he needed to say it. Kazunori came to save him. Kazunori still cared about his brother, right? The happiness was enough.

Suddenly, the dark-haired boy left him and came to Kazunori. Kisuke saw an angry expression on his face, and started to panick for his brother. He didn't care about himself anymore; only about Kazunori. The little boy was shaking, and closed his eyes with fear. The boy threw Kazunori against the wall and said something like it was heroic but it was useless, and turned back to Kisuke. Surprised, Kisuke had the reflex to wanting to get away. But he stared in vain at his brother, twisted by the pain, and Kisuke received a violent shock on his face.

BACKGROUND (ANOTHER LIFE): Kisuke woke up in a room entirely in black. It was surprisingly warm but Kisuke felt cold. He palpated his own body, and his tears started to fall. Was he dead? Was that a dream? Where was he? Lost, confused, Kisuke looked around him, but couldn't see anything. It was pitch black and everything he could remember was this scene with the yellow-eyed boy, his brother kicked down. Memories flushed into his head: his mother, his father, Ayumi, Kazunori. The boy. Kisuke sighed. He looked up and looked all around him.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • AKUMU LUCILFER: Akumu is Kiss' actual master and owner. Akumu killed Kiss in an alley, to revenge one of Yume's friends Kiss previously killed. When he reincarnates, Kiss is surprised and accepts with reluctance his new role and way of life. He quickly get used to, and even though he respects Akumu somehow due to his bravery and power, he kinda fears him. Fearful of being hit again, he's surprisingly very disciplined and reliable. He asked Akumu not to ask him to use his demon form often, because he doesn't like this form and he wants to stay the healer to support his allies. In a certain way, he's thankful towards the young man for giving them a new life and a re-start from the beginning.

  • DARKNEEL SHAKER: Kiss and Shaker have a good relationship, though Kiss is sometimes tired of Shaker's childish acting. They have become closer when Shaker had to treat his wounds because of his collar. Shaker deeply trusts Kiss, even though it's not really reciprocal. Kiss thinks Shaker is way too childish and that he should act more mature, and that he deserves his punishment collar. Sometimes when Shaker acts too friendly towards him, Kiss feels awkward and doesn't know how to react. Kiss sometimes acts like if he was Shaker's big brother, and that does please him somehow even if he'll never admit it. He feels sometimes flustered and jealous towards Shaker because Ria prefers to stay with Shaker instead of him.

  • RIA: Ria arrived some time after Kiss. Ria used to follow Kiss everywhere like his pet. Kiss was at first angry against him because he couldn't get why he was following *him* and not someone else, but he quickly got used to. After Darkneel Shaker arrived, Ria stopped to hang out with Kiss and that saddened him. Since that, Kiss denies when people ask him if Ria and him get along. Kiss thinks Ria, even though he's 20, acts like a child and that sometimes upsets him. He would like him to act more serious and to stop eating and fighting like a little kid. He usually severely reprimands him when Ria gets into a fight and hurt people. Ria is still caring towards Kiss, and comes to see him when he sees he's lonely. Even with their troublesome relationship, they like each other and they are very attentive toward each other.

  • METEOR: Meteor is probably the first that Kiss considers like a friend. Getting bored of Ria, Kiss welcomed Meteor and they hanged out together. They were sitting under trees to relax. Though, they were both loners so the conversation couldn't go that far. Still, they have a good relationship and Kiss always counts on him, like when he needs help, he's gonna call Meteor. Even if he trusts him, he started doubting him when he saw Meteor was trying to help Shaker to take his collar off. Between Ria, Darkneel Shaker and Meteor, Kiss thinks that Meteor is probably the less childish of them.

  • CHAOS: Chaos is probably Kiss' first relative. Kiss used to talk with him before Ria arrived. They weren't that close, but they still have a good relationship. They both agree on the obedience towards their master. Kiss acts neutral towards Chaos but thinks he's the more reliable person between everyone.
