Profile
Itaweret is the eldest daughter of Mahu, Per-Pehu's colonial governor, who has appointed her with the responsibility of leading the local priesthood for the goddess Mut. When the Greek warlord Scylax of Mycenae attacks her native colony, razing it to the ground and enslaving its citizens, Itaweret must follow her goddess's instructions in a campaign to liberate what remains of her people and avenge her home's destruction.
Itaweret is the protagonist of an alternate history/fantasy novel I am working on that has the working title Priestess of the Lost Colony. I got the idea for this story from various Greek legends of ancient Egyptians settling upon their shores, such as the origin story behind the Oracle of Dodona (which the historian Herodotus attributed to a pair of Egyptian priestesses).
