The first soul to be imbued with star dust, caused by a meteor shower occurring during his birth. Much of his life while alive is undocumented, but his brother (known today as Sheol) was rumored to have poisoned him out of jealousy; in reality, Lotus was the first carrier of a deadly and violent plague which spread to the rest of his village after his death. It ate into them alive. When there was physically nothing left to rot, it infected their souls as well.

Though his physical body was gone, his soul was protected by the meteor shower's radiant blessing as he rose to once again rest amongst the stars. However, the downy comfort of the clouds offered no consolation for the intense grief caused by knowing what he'd inadvertently caused. Thinking of his brother, he wept, and for the next century constant rain would fall across Earth. Created and nourished by this divine rainfall was the lotus flower, which grew through the numerous swamps that now permeated the land below and raised its stalk and petals to the heavens as if to greet its creator.

Amazed that his sorrow could create something so beautiful, Lotus ceased his tears and instead began to watch the people that walked below him. He was shocked at the sheer number of them - it was more than triple the population of his former village! But in horror he saw right through them, into their rot-covered souls. The disease had persisted, and while these humans were physically immune, their souls were just as susceptible as they were centuries ago. Thinking quickly, Lotus gathered up a handful of star dust that had fallen onto the surrounding clouds and held it close to his heart, filling it with the love he could no longer give his family. It formed into a smooth, clear orb that sparkled brilliantly in his hands, and with a silent wish he dropped it onto the earth below, blessing this new life with his divine protection.
