Kethan Meadows

Kethan is warm and welcoming, and enjoys making people feel at home with him. He's very open about himself and his life with other people and rarely feels the need to keep secrets.

He wants to do what he believes is right, and is always willing to lend a helping hand to those who need one. He spends a lot of his free time either with his friends/family or helping the community around him. However, he has a habit of trying to "fix" people, which can cause him to get too invested in other peoples problems or cause him to hang out around people who might not always be the best for him to be around.

"Do good out of spite" is a motto he lives by.

Kethan can be very charismatic and is good at meeting new people, calming down situations and persuading others.

Kethan grew up on a small family-run farm with many siblings. Not long after becoming an adult he decided to go off on his own to see the world and meet new people.

He met his Jeana not too long after moving off of his family's farm. She was hurting and Kethan felt the urge to help her with her troubles. The two grew close, and eventually got married. Their relationship was never perfect, but it was decent for a while, until Jeana came to the realization that Kethan would deal with all her problems and never stay angry at her. She began to take advantage of him and skimp on all her responsibilities, and the issues she had before seemed only to get worse.

When the two eventually had a child, Mei, Jeana never wanted anything to do with her. She got increasingly irritated and aggressive towards both Kethan and Mei until one night she up and left the two. Kethan was unsure what to do, and remained in the house with just his daughter for several months in hopes that she would return. During this time he worked through his emotions, until eventually he resolved to give Mei a better life than what Jeana would give her. When Mei was about 6 months old he left the town behind and moved he and his daughter to a new home. He has not seen or spoken to Jeana since the night she left their old house.

Kethan stayed in this new town for over a year before he met Minolin, who moved there after he had. Noticing how other townsfolk treated Minolin, Kethan made it his job to make the drow feel a bit more welcome in the town. At first it was tough to get Minolin to open up to him at all, but with a bit of persistence Kethan was eventually able to befriend him. The two grew closer over time, started dating, and eventually married.

After Minolin's close encounter with death, the family picked up their belongings and Kethan once again found himself moving to a new town. He learned more about Minolin's life and previous job during this process, and Kethan understandably had a lot of conflicting feelings related to this new information. He was worried about any potential negative influences on Mei or something similar happening with Minolin to what had happened with Jeana. The two talked a lot about this, and it was definitely a rougher time in their relationship. However, they managed to pull through, and Kethan once again made it his duty to help someone.

Once settled in their new home, Kethan dedicated himself and his family to a temple of [god] that was in the town. At first they were reluctant to allow Minolin to become a member of their community, due to him being a drow and his dark magic, but Kethan was able to convince them to allow him in. The family visits this temple frequently and takes part in many of the activities they have. The general focus of the temple is to help make the community in their town better, which is exactly the kind of thing that Kethan would like to be doing. The family had been living in this town for about three years when a baby had been given up by her parents to the temple due to being a half-elf. Kethan and Minolin were both excited at the prospect of being able to raise another child together, and Kethan managed to convince those at the head of the temple to allow the two to adopt her. She became their second daughter, Eirina, is she's about 11 years younger than Mei.

On Minolin's request, Kethan and the family also have taken up the Goddess Eilistraee. While there's no community for her in the town where they live, the family all make acknowledgements to her in their home.
