"Quiet yourself, unless you'd like a jinx in your face."
A quiet woman who, no matter how proficient she is in her fields of magic, can never feel satisfied with herself. She is guarded, and is seemingly unable to show emotional vulnerability to a good majority of the people in her life. However, Soulleve is quite motherly towards her students, although not openly, and always makes sure to check up on them throughout the day.
Her background is generally unknown by many, as she keeps details of her past life extremely shrouded in mystery. What is known about her now is that she is a scholar to the majority of the basic fields offered at Hexen Academy, and that she was previously involved a group of soul eaters, and is where she gained her companion Seele, a cowardly soul that seeked her protection. Everything else thought about her is based on pure speculation and rumours.
Soulleve's family is unknown to the public, and it seems that the only person that holds such knowledge is herself and the Sanctum, of whom she does not have a particularly fond view of in the first place. Why she stays at the Academy, or continues to pledge her alliance to Konigreich, is beyond her colleagues.
- Light bending magic. Although it is a rare form, and hardly anyone is able to master it, Soulleve is fascinated by the beauty of its possible application, and loves forging items out of hard light.
- Seele. She'd never admit it to his face, but she's quite fond of his company, and would feel quite empty without him.
- Her students, and watching them grow into fine young men and women. Seeing them grow up makes her feel like an accomplished mother, and she had never failed to swell with pride (silently, mind you) at seeing all their achievements.
- The silence of night, as the quiet inspires her most philosophical ideas.
- Vulgarities, stupid humour, and the likes. She throws anyone out of her class if they even mention something crude.
- Loud noises. Just shut up. Don't even try and blast a bop next to her.
- Dishonesty. If you lie to her, and she catches you in the lie, do not expect her to show you any respect.
- Laziness. Just put some effort into your essays, she's begging you.
In her early life, Soulleve was a prodigious child, having mastered multiple fields of magic in a span of ten years; offensive by 13, defensive by 14, transfiguring by 16, summoning by 17 and, her latest mastery, caring of magical creatures at 18. However, this was not by any means done in a particularly moral way. In order to gain such immense power, she had run away to a fierce group of soul eaters by 11, eager and wide eyed. As she grew up, Soulleve realised the harm herself and her group was causing, particularly helped by finally witnessing the devastation her powers caused.
From there, she once again ran away, meeting a lost soul by the name of Seele in her travels. Although somewhat begrudgingly, Soulleve allows him to join in the event she became
Aiko Kobayashi
[ Future lover ] Soulleve was the person who scouted Aiko out, and has high hopes for her potions. The scholar finds her childish nature to be a bit of a bother. Although her pestering attitude annoys Soulleve greatly, the woman cares for her. In the future, they find themselves falling in love and getting engaged, before being suddenly torn apart due to a war they were called to serve in.
Queen Est
[ Boss, distant ] It's not known why, but the two appear to have next to nothing in terms of a relationship. Queen Est seems to try and hold a friendly facade, treating Soulleve as if she was her own daughter, however Soulleve rejects any notion of affection. She speculates that Queen Est views her as the perfect weapon for Konigreich.
Hyung Choe
[ Student ] The both of them do not speak to each other much, seeing as they are both not the most talk active. However, Soulleve is quite impressed at Hyung's skills in the various areas of magic he studies, but always subtly recommends for him to take a break.
Nana Nunana
[ Delinquent ] Soulleve despises Nana to no end. She's rude, she interrupts the class and she cannot keep her mouth shut. The amount of detentions Soulleve has had to serve to Nana most likely amounts to a month's worth of hours. If Soulleve could expel a student, it would most definitely be Nana.
