"Ah...I think that's nice! :)"

Chihiro Yukimura is a kind young man, and member of the Demon Slayer Corp. He is a relatively short man, clocking in at about 5'5" (or 165cm). He has a slim build that borders on limber, but not quite.

He has grey eyes, half toned in the middle, with white pupils. His hair is black, with greying, purple tips. Since his hair is so long, he tends to keep it up in a ponytail--unleashed it reaches his tailbone! Chihiro has a kind smile, which he inherits from his mother--his gentle gaze and soft laugh have the power to put anyone at ease!

Around his head, Chihiro wears a white ribbon that covers both of his ears. Not only because he love ribbons, which he does very much, but he uses the white ribbon as a nonverbal signal to others that he is deaf! Some people don't get the memo, and his crow, Kasu, has to explain it to them.

Chihiro wears a tattered, black haori with faded edges and purple trim. Beneath it, he wears the Demon Slayer Corp uniform. His sword is a typical nichirin blade with a black and white hilt intertwined in a checkerboard pattern. The guard resembles a hand mirror--complete with reflectivity! His sword color is white.

Brief History

Chihiro was born an only child to Masaru Yukimura and his wife, Kanon. The heir to the vast Yukimura estate, Chihiro was coddled for the majority of his childhood--sheltered by order of his controlling father and overprotective mother. Kept within the confines of the estate, Chihiro grew up a lonely child. His life was being planned for him by his father, and he felt no wants or needs. He had no friends his age, and due to being born deaf, communication was hard to come by. To stave off the boredom of a listless life, he took to a variety of hobbies -- art, sleep, and reading lips.

Throughout his childhood, Chihiro honed his perceptive skills--often without being concious of his efforts. Around him, people spoke freely, thinking him incapable of listening. He used these people and their hidden conversations as practice; as a game he would play. In a world without sound, he had to extend his sight.

When he was fourteen years old, on a snowy night, a strange visitor visited the estate. That night, his father would be willingly turned into a demon by the progenitor of all demonkind--Muzan Kibutsuji. As Chihiro sat oblivious in his room, his father slaughtered all of the servants within the estate. Unable to hear them, Chihiro only became alerted hours later, when the smell of smoke hit his nose. Upon investigating the bloodied estate, near faint from horror, he came upon his father inside the master bedroom. The demon ate Chihiro's mother before his eyes, and turned its attention to its only son...its heir. Through a slash in the shoji, his father's clawed hand reached out, and gently shushed a scream that Chihiro had no way of hearing. His own scream.

He fled as a small fire from the kitchen worked its way through the house. Coated in blood, and gore, Chihiro left the Yukimura estate for the first time--barefoot and dressed in light clothing. He'd never had to run in his life. He'd never felt such cold. His lungs pulsed erratically, spasming and freezing up in the snow. The weather turned as he tumbled down into the dense forest that surrounded the estate. He ran for a length he had no way of knowing. The blizzard had frozen time itself. In the night he collapsed, exhausted, and nearly frostbitten.

Had it not been for the keen eye of a passing wanderer, Chihiro would have frozen to death. Rescuing the unconcious boy from underneath the snow, the stranger took him back to his hut, and nursed him back to health. Chihiro would learn the truth from that stranger. That demons were real. That his father had been turned. From these truths, Chihiro came to his own conclusions. That because of his deafness, he was oblivious to the situation. That because of his listlessness, he had not gone to see the stranger that had entered his home that night. He was careless. He was lacking.

A cold nugget of resentment nestled within Chihiro's chest. For the first time in his life, he felt a drive to do something. He felt a need to slay every last demon, to slay his own father--as if somehow that could make up for the murders of that night. Seeing the intent his eyes, and the lingering darkness, the stranger revealed their true nature to Chihiro--that of a former Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corp. He offered to take Chihiro under his wing, and, for once, Chihiro did not hesitate in his answer.

Three long years of training began. While studying under Breath of Mist, Chihiro learned to further enhance his sight, and strengthened his body. A chip on his shoulder weighed heavy on him. To ease his pain, he adopted a smile, and kept it stuck to his face even when pain became unbearable. He had to always be compensating. He had to always be aware of his surroundings. There was no time for friendship, for relationships, for anything. What mattered to him then was training, and training alone. Because of his negligence, his mother and the estate servants were killed. He owed them a life of penance, if he was going to use his worthless life for anything.

Hardened by his experience, and trained to his limit, Chihiro was sent off to the Final Selection. Armed with a sword, a smile, and his master's ribbon tied around his head, he made his journey to the mountainside, and survived the challenge until dawn. While fighting, he came upon a strange figure whose speed matched his own. Having aided each other in battle, the two exchanged names. Only Chihiro would remember his, but that was okay.

Chihiro returned to his master with resolve. Returning with a special crow that could easily speak in his sted, Chihiro explained his intention to formulate a new breath style. One that built off of Mist, one that focused on the manipulation of light, sight, and awareness. Throughout his travels, Chihiro would go on to pioneer that breath style--named Breath of Prism. Drawing inspiration from friends, mentors, and more, the highly technical style was given life as Chihiro himself was raised from his darkness.

The friendless, lonely boy with no direction in life had changed. He had gained friends, he had found his path, and no longer did he feel the crippling quiet that had stunted his growth. During his travels, Chihiro warmed up to the world. His smile became genuine--it became the one that his mother had loved so much. As he continues to perfect Breath of Prism, he slays demons with a vicious zeal that betrays a dark streak that still resides inside him. But, when he's not hunting, he's a simple boy.

He's quiet, mild, and always smiling. He's sleepy, kind, and borderline passive. He's Chihiro Yukimura, and that's nice.

Personality

Chihiro is a mild, kind man with simple wants and needs. Raised in an enviornment of discipline and respect, he is a polite and understanding person--in spite of his detached upbringing. Open and gentle, he is the type of person you feel you can open up to minutes after meeting him.

On a surface level, he's uncomplicated. He enjoys good naps, good eats, and good people. He retains his childhood penchant for sleeping when bored, and is often found napping in the oddest places during the day. He takes slights in stride, and lets most issues roll of his back--sometimes when he shouldn't.

When it comes to hunting demons, however, his personality shifts to one that resembles his father. Despite his lax demeanor, Chihiro can get way into battles and competition. Towards demons, Chihiro is cruel, and relentless. Having dedicated his life to the destruction of demonkind, he shows no mercy towards them, and often relishes in the thrill of battle. His worst traits come out when he fights, and worse he becomes increasingly hard to converse with.

While Chihiros passion is easier to see in battle, those who know him can feel the extent of his caring for them. Having grown up isolated, he cherishes the people he meets and the world he was kept from. His naivety of the world can sometimes make him gullible, but his heart is often in the right place. Don't let his mild-manners fool you--he is always aware of his surroundings.

Technique

Skills

Breath of Prism

Strength:
His unique breath style. Breath of Prism draws on the strength/styles of Chihiro's connections. As his friendships grow, so do his forms. The premise of this style is based around the manipulation of light--focused in making things clearer, harder to percieve, and the aiding allies in illuminating weakspots. It's a highly technical form that Chihiro is still perfecting.

KasuSpeak

Strength:
After passing the Final Selection, Chihiro was gifted a special crow named Kasu. The pair quickly bonded, to a point where it seems the two can communicate with ease. Kasu takes to acting as Chihiro's mouth. Whenever he needs to be heard, Kasu will speak for him--it's almost as if Chihiro is speaking through the strange bird...(becuase that is what it is).

Enhanced Sight

Strength:
He may appear spacey, but don't be fooled. Since childhood, Chihiro has had to hone his sight to make up for his lack of hearing. His training further improved his perception, to a point where Chihiro is always tuned into what's happening around him. He specializes in spatial awareness. He can detect slight changes in terrain, unnoticed traps, and minute signs that can be used to track demons.

Laser Focus

Strength:
The state Chihiro enters when in battle with a demon. Chihiro will train the focus of his enhanced sight onto one target, and will not stop until either the target is destroyed, or he is stopped by force. Enemies often feel like they're being watched from all around, as Chihiro's presence and aura are that dire. Nothing they do is secret, or safe, under Chihiro's watchful eyes.
