There are some charming things about Arden- he is clever, quick-witted, and practical in his innovation. This is outweighed, though, by his terrible attitude: he's poor at maintaining friendships and getting along with others. Arden's habit of condescending to and degrading others earns him few allies, and neither do his caustic personality and habit of lying. He is very creative, and stubborn in the worst and best of ways: good in that he won't give up, and bad in that he never gives up. Arden enjoys the sense of control he feels when he's able to make other people do and react how he anticipates, and unfortunately, his habit of mixing this manipulation with calculated praise and well-placed encouragement often lures the most vulnerable people into associating with him.
Arden is cutthroat and power-hungry, and has a bleak outlook when it comes to the world at large. Having spent much of his youth in the sociopolitical sludge of Baldur's Gate as a young man unable to keep a job or find enough friendships to help him get by, his circumstances have left him disgruntled. There is still some good in Arden, though: he tries to lay off of what he perceives are sensitive topics for others that he likes, and he certainly doesn't ask about it.
Arden is far from the homestead he grew up on, but he remains loyal to his parents, and desperately wishes to impress them- somehow.
Rude, manipulative, nasty, and often emotionally cold, Arden has more flaws than he has perks. The list could span paragraphs.
Aside from informing others of where he's from- a small farm outside of Baldur's Gate- Arden is relatively close-mouthed about his past. His relationship with at least some of his siblings is tumultous, to put it lightly.
Arden's spellbook was a gift from his family. It is made of dyed and burned lizardfolk skn.
Arden is owed a horse in Scornubel. He hasn't picked it up yet, but he's on his way.
Arden has 3x the health of a cat.
