Nari Varsteg (バルステグ足 Varsteg Nari), is Hitomi Kanetsukabe's best friend. She is a minor character in my fanfiction, "I Provide Protection".

Appearance

Nari is a somewhat tall girl, with a slim and slightly boyish figure. She is often described as quite skinny by her peers, and is quite pale. She has dirty blonde hair that always appears slightly brown at the roots, which is almost always tied back into a half-ponytail and stops at just above her shoulders. Her eyes are football-shaped, appearing slightly slanted and are orange in color, with notable upper lashes, two of which prominently stick out. There is a scar that runs from the base of her neck to the middle of her chest, although it is mostly obscured by the clothes she wears. Metal panels are located within the heels of her feet due to her quirk, but remain mostly unseen due to Nari’s footwear.

Nari wears the standard Akinaba High School female uniform, which consists of a long-sleeved button-up shirt with a Peter Pan collar that has a black trim, a black lace ribbon tied around the collar, a dark green pleated suspender skirt, white knee socks, and black Mary Janes. In the summer months, the long-sleeved button-up is swapped out for a short-sleeved shirt with the same collar.

In casual settings, Nari often wears more tomboyish clothes because she feels they complement her modest figure better. She is often seen wearing a dark olive green letterman jacket, with light beige sleeves and stripes outlining the collar, cuffs, pockets, and waistband. In the warmer seasons, she can frequently be seen wearing shorts, while in colder seasons, she wears quite warm pants to keep the metal springs in her legs from freezing up due to the temperature. Her shoes must often be modified, having hinges built into the heel area that allows them to open and close to accommodate her quirk.

Quirk

Spring Heel (スプリングヒール Supuringuhīru): Nari has spring-like contraptions built into the bottom half of her legs, somewhat reminiscent of a pinball machine launcher. It connects to a heavy, small panel located in place of the heels in her feet that helps launch her into the air. Because it is a mutant type quirk, she often has holes cut in her socks and shoes to make room for her springs, the soles of her shoes often having a hinge in the heel area that allows it to open and close to accommodate her quirk.

She has two modes, with locks at both her ankles and under her knees for her springs.
