"Girls just wanna have fun"

Marguerite is... carefree to put it lightly. Immature, truthfully. She behaves the way she wants to behave, and often doesn't think of the consequences of her words and actions. She doesn't like to beat around the bush, and will dive headfirst into issues, following her emotions. Despite being taught how to act like a "lady," she tries to discard these mannerisms at the first opportunity, not formally accepting it as part of her upbringing. Due to her up-front attitude, Marguerite wants people to tell her when they have a problem with her, but generally can't take the heat from being told the truth and will lash out in response. She also spills tea often, but doesn't like hearing rumors when it involves her. Having brief experience with shop tending, she knows when to switch on the "customer-service" persona, but it cracks in the face of heavy criticism and slander against herself or those she's close to. She tends to wear this 'mask' in formal social situations, but will switch to something more teasing if she finds an opening in the person she's talking to. Marguerite is fun-loving, and enjoys parties and other boisterous gatherings, always trying to make stiff settings into something more relaxed. She enjoys chatting people up about mundane things, but has a nasty habit of oversharing and centering the conversation around herself. She loves making connections, but has a lot to learn about actually keeping them.

Marguerite wasn't born into nobility. Daughter of a seamstress and a tailor, Mar has always been swaddled in fabric. She took an interest in fashion from a young age, always asking her mother to make her some kind of dress, skirt, flowy headpiece she could spin around the room in. A favor done for a lord one day turns into something lucky. The man drops a title on them in return for her father's basic tailoring skills. The Piepers become nobles overnight, a little smudge of the papers and they're now distant relatives living on a plot just off the main chunk of land. It's a small estate and a few horses, along with an old maid who is little more than a wrinkled ghost in an apron. It's more than they've ever had, and while not greedy folks per say, the Piepers are rather quick to discard their trade for this new "life of luxury."

Lady training on Marguerite's end grows her into something defiant. The teacher her parents hire for her leaves... a lot to be desired, and as soon as lessons end, Mar is off running around the estate, playing around outside, or otherwise getting into trouble. She becomes less responsive to the commands of her parents, thinking that if they wanted to sell the business for this stupid plot of land and this worthless title, she'd show them. She isn't sure what exactly she's showing them by doing this, but consider it shown. Disobedience follows her into her late teenage years. Curtsying enough to get by, Mar frequents shady parties when her parents' eyes are turned, drinking and rubbing elbows with the tavern-crawling 'ilk' her parents warned her to stay away from. Normal people, like she wishes she still was.

Oblivious to her dilemma and bent on making more connections for themselves, Marguerite's parents arrange several meetings in hopes of marrying her off. Without, y'know, asking her what she wants. She bombs the dates time after time, pushing suitors away with her personality if not her mannerisms. Determined to get her way in the end, Marguerite grows spoiled and stubborn, lack of actual working going straight to her head. She spends her allowance on new clothes and booze, spending so much time out of the house that it's a marvel she hasn't just moved out and called it quits.

Turning 20 has curbed some of her wildness but she's still frequently out and about, flamboyant garb and bad coping mechanisms.
