Vesna Planinić

Vesna Planinić (last name roughly translating to "from the mountains") is a traveling Shepherdess from the region of Čiste Planine and her village Doline Lipe Cvatu. Accompanied only by her Gusle and any wandering sheep that decide to join her. 

She decides to tells the tales of only female heroes and travels with them to witness their story firsthand to sing their stories appropriately. This is how she meets Carmilla, her now wife. She was so astounded by her power and beauty she immediately knew Carmilla was her true muse..
The tales of these heroes and legends help her concentrate her power by remembering her strongest and most impressive allies.. Carmilla being the one that comes up the most frequently.

She became a bard, following the footsteps of her tiefling grandfather, who raised her since birth. She doesnt know anything about her parents, or even what happened to them, she just knows information on her mother through her grandfather.
Her grandfather was her best mentor in learning to play the gusle and how to use her magic. He was considered the best gusle player and bard in their village.He helped her carve her own gusle; the strings on her instrument were strung with ones that belonged to her grandfather after he passed. His strings aid her in the power of her magic.

She seems to always be surrounded by red poppies, either by choice or by accident, as a motif of hers. She doesn't know much of her ancestry, but according to stories sung by her grandfather, there is a strong connection between red poppies and the first tiefling in her family. She adopted the motif as a sign from her ancestor protecting her, even carving red poppies into the back of her gusle to serve as sure protection.
