Profile

Delfino is an average sized dragon for his age, not being too big or small. His eyes change color based on his mood, and it can partially be controlled by him, so he mostly keeps them a pinkish salmon color. His scales are a variety of colors, but mainly a dark turquoise color, along with light blue, golden, crimson, salmon, and dark grayish-blue talons and spikes. His arms and legs are many shades of blue, and are cut by bright golden lines and patterns, with crimson cutting down the middle. His wings, on top are the same Turquoise color and the rest of him, but it gets to lighter shades as it moves back. His underwings however, shift into a beautiful golden color and they move back. They also have small holes speckled across them, which looks fascinating when his wings are covering up sunlight. His tail has lines of golden and crimson oval shapes going down the length of it, as well as pure crimson spots complimenting it. His underbelly is a pale bluish-green. He has a signature HiveWing horn to start, followed by two normal horns, a light green-blue color spiraled with a whitish-baby blue color. In between them are a single line of almost Icewing spikes, leading all the way down to his tail. He has a golden-tan SandWing sail linking them at his head, but that fades away at the bottom of his neck and is replaced by the back of his horns being dark red.

Pre Hatching>
Palm, a mostly SeaWing, SandWing, LeafWing tribrid was a successful and well known merchant across Pyrrhia and Pantala, especially the Sea Kingdom, were his large caravel, The Mombasa, was based out of. He’d made many trips across Pyrrhia’s southern coast, normally moving from the Diamond Spray Delta in the Mud Kingdom, and talking trips all the way to the The Sand Kingdom, and sometimes even as far as to the Isle Mezzo and the exotic continent of Pantala farther west. A mainly RainWing, IceWing hybrid known as Snowberry ran a successful luxury goods shop in the major trading city of Corallia, at the base of the Sea Kingdom peninsula, giving most of her wears to merchants who would them to make a profit and then give her a share of it.
Around 3 years before Delfino’s hatching, Snowberry was sitting in her store, doing her normal routine when a handsome tribrid walked in, introducing himself as Palm. She thought he looked a little odd, but… interesting, in a way. As they worked with each other more and more, he started to bring her small gifts, wondrous, unique things that he’d picked up from his travels across the world. She liked him, and started to notice that he kept coming back more and more, and they they started to spend more time talking and getting to know about each other then actually making trade deals, with Palm telling her fun and adventurous stories from his past and recent trips, while she talked about her business and the latest news among the Kingdom of the Sea that he’d missed while away.
Eventually, after around a year of knowing and getting closer to one another, Palm asked Snowberry if she would take a long vacation from her shop, and join him on one of his far reaching trading trips, taking her in a grand journey around the world and showing Snowberry all the wonders that he’d talked about to her in the past. A few months later, they came back to Corallia a wealthy married couple, and with a dragonet on the way.

Baby Dragonet >
At Delfino’s hatching, his parents gazed their eyes on him for the first time and were shocked. They’d expected that the qualities of two, or maybe even three of four of their source tribes would show, but astonishingly, they had seen the characteristics of nearly every tribe on him, from both continents. But to them, this fact didn’t change a thing, and they still loved him with all their hearts. On closer examination though, with a trained doctor and biologist, even they couldn’t identify one singular dominant tribe, and stated that he was part of a rare group of dragons who were a mix of many different tribes, named AllWings.
Soon after Delfino was hatched in the
Kingdom of the Sea, his mother sold her luxury goods store in Corallia and moved in with Palm on his large trading ship, which soon became the family’s primary home. He also had a couple of small apartments in various cities across Pyrrhia, but they were very small and unfit for caring for a family, as he only used them to store some of his goods in between trips when his ship was not large enough to hold it all. Instead, they permanently lived on the Mombasa, and only having a small, very close and trusted permanent crew with them. As a baby dragonet, Delfino was always very active, always causing mischief and chaos among the ship and the crew, who were almost family by then to him and his parents. Despite having an extremely bad flying impediment when he was young, with the small holes in his wings where a NightWings spots would be, they stifled his flight and could easily tear, he still somehow got to places he wasn’t supposed to able to get to, scaring his parents almost to death at least once every week.
After a few months, his mother started to teach him lessons in place of going to a school, buying new textbooks and other equipment while they were in various ports. His father also taught him, but instead of normal class subjects he was taught navigation and steering a ship, along with keeping track of cargo and being able to bargain and sells things. During this time, Delfy’s father bought him his beloved fishing pole on his birthday, teaching him how to throw lines and reel fish in. After that, he spent hours sitting off the end of the boat fishing, not that well in the beginning, but at least he stopped causing so much trouble, to the relief of his parents and crew.
His best achievement (at least to him), was during his mother’s Hatching Day party on board the ship, during which he had breathed a small amount of his newly discovered venom into the First Mate’s drinking cup, so when he went to get his next drink after having the large feast… something entertaining was bound to happen. The First Mate then spent the next three hours throwing up his entire meal to the fish with tears in his eyes, and was not nearly as amused by the mostly harmless prank like the rest of the crew, who were laughing and congratulating Delfy the entire time. His parents however, were concerned about the effects and properties of his semi-venom, and trained him not to use it before they took him to a biologist and figured out the poison’s full effects.

As Delfino grew older, he gradually became more serious (But he still loved to play pranks and joke around), and his parents started to put him to doing various simple jobs aboard the ship, helping the craw with minor things and getting to know them even better. They did this for about two and a half years, steadily growing their wealth and reputation among the multiple Kingdoms where they traded at. His parents were extremely successful with their merchant business, and were actually planning to eventually settle down back in the Kingdom of the Sea, and to enroll Delfino in an actual school where he could learn more advanced topics.
But that all turned around on one fateful trading trip. Palm has heard warnings about a new gang of pirates that were hunting the seas between Mezzo and the Sand Kingdom, but had decided not think anything of it, given that they were taking well patrolled areas near the Isle Mezzo and much traveled routes, so no petty pirate would dare to attack that region with the risk of being caught.
He was wrong, and just off the coast of Mezzo, a large gang of pirates attacked the Mombasa, and Palm and his outnumbered crew were forced to defend while he forced Snowberry and Delfy to hide below decks, where they’d be safe. He was extremely lucky though, bad weather in the past few days had made the pirates estimate they that the ship was much farther away from Mezzo and the trade routes than it actually was. So, in the midst of the fight, just as the crew of the ship was starting to be overrun, an Alliance patrol came across the ship, and immediately assisted the beleaguered crew members. The battle soon turned in their favor, and the pirate gang was forced to fall back. Luckily, Palm’s family, and most of his crew was only minorly wounded in the assault, but he was pretty badly wounded, getting cut and bitten in multiple places as he fought he frey, as well as having RainWing venom splatter on his back leg and wing, permanently mutilating them. In the end the pirates retreated, but they set fire to the caravel, which was already damaged. Snowberry and Delfino barely escaped, with Delfy only being able to grab his fishing pole as they sprinted out, the ship sinking quickly with all of its cargo, and most of the family’s money and belongings.
This put Palm and Snowberry into financial ruin, and left the family without a real home. His father was completely devastated at losing his entire life’s work, and would never be the same after. Most of their crew left them, but a couple decided to stay and help them, but nearly all promised to return to the family once they got a new ship. During their recovery, the Alliance was very kind to them, and let them stay in some extra rooms in the Palace. This is where Delfino was personally introduced to the Alliance and Mezzo University, with a kind Hybrid Nimble taking care of the family as they recovered. It had now been a couple months since the attack, and Delfino’s father was mostly healed and ready to get back on his feet. His parents thankfully accepted the offer, knowing that he would be safe and well fed in Mezzo while they went back to the Kingdom of the Sea to try and get a new ship and some money, relieved that they didn’t have to protect him and have another mouth to feed but extremely saddened that he wouldn’t be with them. So they left to fly back, leaving Delfy in the care of the Alliance and sending letters every few weeks.
In the time where he was alone and waiting to be entered into the University, he became very secluded and shy, as before that his only close companions were his parents and crew. He also didn’t know nearly anyone on the Isles, Alliance or otherwise, and his only contact being the hybrid SilkWing/LeafWing nurse that cared and talked with him. He soon learned her name, which was Holly, and they soon grew very close as they continued to get to know each other better. Holly acted as Delfy’s sort-of parent while his normal family was gone, and they talked to one another nearly every day. They talked about a whole multitude of subjects, with Holly teaching Delfy about basic medicine and first aid, and her adventures in the Alliance, and he talking about his adventures on the ship.
When he wasn’t talking to her though, he was spending most of his time practicing very hard with his ability to fly, trying to just get on par with other normal dragons, and sometimes working himself to exhaustion, collapsing on the ground and crashing multiple times. He also read a large amount of scrolls, He didn’t really talk to any of the other students, nervous at what they’d think of him being an AllWing and not a student. After a few months of waiting to get in, and finishing with an interview and quizzing process, he was placed in the Diamond Talon. Delfino was finally ready to start his education and meet new dragons.
