Personality
Brave Strong Cruel Greedy
There is no denying that Etoshar is the picture-perfect stereotype of Orcs to those outside his species: he is blood-thirsty, seemingly boundless in his desire to conquer. But-- he might appear careless and overly confident, it's far from being his everything. It is true that in his deepest nature he finds the most entertaining and fulfilling things through his bloodlust. But there is a side to him that isn't as hidden as others would imagine, should they attempt to look: he has a need to expect more of himself and his people, and cross self-imposed boundaries. He finds something thought-provoking within his warpaths.
A definite hypocrite where social dynamics are concerned, he is charismatic-- but only to his own people. As an example, Etoshar often encourages his lessers to attempt to assassinate him, to keep his wits about him throughout his leadership, and this tactic of confidence in turn leaves many Orcs under his rule more pleased with his openness, not wishing ill on him. But more bluntly, and more often: there is little chivalry in his actions, and unless he has incentive, he is not very considerate or kind.
With such a fickle attention-span and harsh attitude, there is no telling who will be in Etos' good graces enough to get him to be forthcoming or generous. It's safer to assume the man is in a stubborn, selfish mood than a lighter one.
And though he has taken his rule further than the norm, he still continues to expand his interests and ideas; as he has grown older, he has found that he enjoys toying with any kind of powers beyond his comprehension, social or otherwise... Such as magic-wielders or tenured shamans, in hopes that someday he may harness this type of strength. There's no telling how deep the rabbithole goes, as long as this Orc lives.
Background
Etos in particular had to fight his way to the top of his village's rule. His family practically came from nothing (his father was a butcher of sorts, and his caretakers either working alongside his father or tending to their large, full-up home).
He feels his tyrannical-like rule is quite deserved from how much effort he's put in, and, from what he can tell, he's well-liked enough-- but then again, this sort of violent overrule is part and parcel of this Orcish society.
By their standards, yes, Etoshar is adored and respected, as he's one of the few who has the interest of the whole in mind-- to demand more land and enslavement of others is advantageous to their populace and government. And that isn't a common occurrence among the Orcs, seemingly more content to squabble village-wide rather than internationally. At least, they were content to dream small until Etoshar showed them how to really 'progress'.

Concubines
What is an Orcish leader without his concubines? There will always be one spot for the highest partner of power, and for that he will get married-- but Etoshar has yet to meet them, if such a person exists.
For now, he humiliates all of his lovers by placing them lower, letting them sire his children and praise him without little in return (being a concubine isn't much of a status at all, on account of Etoshar having so many compared to previous leaders)... Even with this knowledge, he still finds many 'suitors' throwing themselves at his feet-- power is seemingly alluring for anyone.
One of Etoshar's many progeny. Katoh is an exception due to his halfbreed status; if it weren't for Etos' hawklike monitoring over Katoh's mother during her pregnancy (from afar, and with the help of others less powerful), he wouldn't have known any better that this was one of his children.
As soon as Katoh's mother had fallen ill and passed away, Etoshar felt his interest wane-- he hadn't known of Katoh's powers. And if he did, this would've been a different relationship entirely... He saw no need to raise the boy, and, truthfully, Katoh is better off, from this choice.
Trivia
- The naming convention among Orcs is quite simple, and all Orcs have completely unique surnames which describe something about them-- and in Etos' case, he was given a new surname as soon as he came into reign (the latter fact isn't a common occurrence among the Orcs).
- Orcs in this universe can twitch/flick their ears. Etos can be seen doing this if he's aggravated; harsh noises can sometimes overwhelm the average Orc, due to their heightened hearing.
- ...They also run cold, but are not susceptible to extreme temperatures (at least not enough to be worried about dressing severely in different climes). Just easier to feel chilly to the touch if wearing hardly anything.
- If it isn't obvious from the mana burns all along his body, he favors his left side when wielding weapons.
The burn took three months to heal, which is quite some time considering how tough Orcskin is.
His blue eye is actually due to the mana burn as well (it's probably the only part of Etos that is magically infused, not that he knows)... Both of his eyes used to be yellow before the attack. - Etos himself is a bit of a lush; his favorite drink is 'blood wine' (a syrupy thick, deep red, sangria-tasting wine). Most Orcs prefer water, as it's less difficult to procure. He feels it helps to keep him warm...! He is quite dependent on it.
- He revels in the monikers all other species (and enemy Orcs) have given him, though they aren't all that unique...
