On the snow-capped mountains that comprise one of Zhongguo’s borders lies the holy territory of Bingyan, renowned for its prosperity despite its youthful age, where the spiritually-inclined come to worship their gods and cultivators reside to hone their skills. Few are unaware of this domain, large as it’s grown since its founding scant few years ago, and fewer still know nothing of the firstborn prince, Fan Jinhuo.

Fan Jinhuo, born to Fan Yongrui and Song Junhua, is the successor to the Bingyan throne and a veritable people magnet. While his younger brother Lixue threw himself into his studies, Jinhuo threw himself...around, mingling with the people of their domain so that he might better learn how to lead them. With his well-kept appearance, geniality, and silver tongue, he won the hearts of the people at quite the early age, and still maintains a good relationship with the community despite his growing need to focus more on his duties as his time for ascension draws near. Still, even with the pressing need to begin his rite of passage, the prince manages to find time to mess around: there are rumors of his coquetry, many claiming that Jinhuo enjoys unwinding in the form of trysts with a lucky few after indulging himself in the revelry of a good party.

Though he hasn’t studied nearly as much as Lixue, Jinhuo’s cultivational skills are rather exceptional, and the confidence he exudes is a clear sign that he knows this. While some may roll their eyes at the prince for having so much faith in his martial prowess, for Jinhuo it’s absolutely essential for the continued prosperity of Bingyan, as it holds a dark secret: deep in the mountains surrounding it lie hundreds of thousands of restless corpses, and only a tithe of blood and spiritual energy from the Emperor will placate them.
