growing up in the slums , there's not quite much you can do for a better life -- sure , dreaming and hoping are options that many young children around her age exhaust , but she knows they truly won't get you anywhere. from a young age , it has always been flora , her younger sister peony , and their mother with crippling alcoholism. with no father to ease the burden of life , the eldest was always picking up odd jobs in order to keep her and her sister afloat during these troubled times. peony's safety and wellbeing all sat at the hands of flora , who tried damn near everything to give her sister the life she knows she deserves. one could call it an obligation , but if you spoke that single word around the grass / normal type , she'd stomp you straight into the ground for suggesting such a thing. it grew exhausting to play the role of older sister , only because she now had to balance two lifestyles -- one of a sibling , and one of a guardian without letting the slightest bit of a problem show to peony. she could be rather prideful , a trait that she never grew out of until it knocked her on her ass , and certainly wouldn't accept any handouts strangers with pitying glances spared her. flora could handle it , there wasn't any room to doubt her capabilities.
unfortunate mishaps have occurred , and while framed -- she was unable to prove her innocence. daily involvement with illegal activity , no matter the activity , was still illegal. forced to flee or face execution for a crime she did not commit , the grass / normal glowchu simply uprooted with a heavy heart and carried on her way , praying to the gods above that they care for her sister until she has the means to come back and give her a better lifestyle.

- family is one of the most important things to flora , since she was robbed of the lifestyle at a young age and forced to grow in solitude.
- despite living in manoa for years , her feet are still sensitive to the hot sands on the beach and she'll blister if footwear isn't present.
- she's lost the enthusiasm for making promises , believing that those who make them will not uphold them in the long run. this is because of what happened with odyssey.
the light of her life , and the one she could endure all the hits for. her little sister is the one driving force behind flora to pick up dangerous and unsettling jobs that jeopardize her own safety -- if it even has the slightest chance of securing peony's future , she'll take it.
phoenix is a culmination of personality traits that she cannot stand. his incessant flirting and cheap efforts to woo her over have done nothing but soil what could have been a potential friendship. he's more of a nuisance than anything , and she will sic delta on the fire/flying type.

wrapped all around his finger , there at the drop of a hat if he needs her. flora is rather devoted to the man of her dreams -- if only he seemed interested in finalizing their unity and settling down to raise a family of their own , rather than turn on his heel and leave her in the dust any time she alludes to it.

not a drop of blood between them is shared , and yet flora would give her all for oceana. she adopts the role of a mother for the girl who never had one -- resigning herself to be the guiding force in the young child's life and to be the one that oceana can turn to when things don't quite go the way they planned. she wouldn't miss the important milestones in her daughter's life for the world.
the one to soothe her heartache after losing odyssey , delta has become something of an anchor in flora's ( self proclaimed ) pathetic life. once a turbulent relationship , now flourishing as one of the healthiest bonds the grass/normal glowchu possesses. the duo are at each others' side always , lifting the other when they fall. it's simple , delta is beyond her best friend. . . he's her platonic soulmate. she wants to grow old together.
