Name meaning "the hidden one", Yamanu is a messenger and collector of information of sorts, who travels through shadow and teleportation, almost as if blinking in and out of existence. Mortals who have caught even the briefest of glimpses of him swear it was a trick or illusion, as it is always out of the corner of one's eye. He communicates through telepathy, and is incredibly clever and intelligent. He will never forget a piece of information once told to him once. Do not be fooled by the slender, smooth, almost delicate features however, for he is a not a creature to be crossed lightly. While he is normally calm and benevolent, this immortal being will hold strong grudges against those who dare try and deceive or harm him, sometimes hunting and tormenting them mercilessly until he is satisfied with their punishment or they offer him something of worth as payment.

Yamanu was created by Amun, the god of the wind and sun, to be a messenger and protector, but he found he could not understand or empathize with others and became overly prideful of his abilities and intelligence. Instead of carrying out his duties, he abused them and the people to gain what his wished for. When the gods found out, Amun punished Yamanu, taking his wings so that he could no longer fly and be of the wind like that of his creator, grounded to the earth for his pride and deception. But over his time wandering, humbled by his punishment, Yamanu learned about emotions, growing more and more curious as he observed others. He learned what it was to empathize, and by doing so grew fond of mankind as well. The tear shaped mark appearing on his blackened face soon after, symbolizing his enlightenment. When he was approached once more by Amun at a temple, Yamanu turned down the offer to return and have his wings restored, to instead remain in the mortal realm to be the protector he was supposed to be, and to continue to learn and gain knowledge. Pleased, Amun gifted him the ability to warp and move through shadows, making his travels easier.
♔ CURRENT SITUATION ♔
These days, after seeing the world, while he still travels sometimes if he hears about something new, he stays close to his now expansive collection of information in the form of a huge, secret library. Not many know what Yamanu is since he doesn't reveal himself to mortals (unless it happens by accident, or they know beforehand). If he needs something that he can't get on his own, he has trusted connections that will retrieve and deliver it.
SALAMA

A wandering Egyptian Sphinx who at times stops by to keep Yamanu company in his massive underground-hidden, personal collection. She tends to bring her own collection of various cat familiars with her, which at first annoyed Yamanu, but they soon grew on him as well. Salama also helps out with his collecting.
AMENI

Ameni is a royal sphinx, who served and protected the pharaohs in the ancient times. Despite pharaohs no longer ruling in modern times, he is still respected and considered a sort of prince, though not many humans even know of his actual existence. Along with Salama, he often stops by when he's able, to visit and share stories and information.
