Design Notes

  • Halo/wisps appear when using large amounts of magic.
  • In Fae form,  she always has at least one dagger on hand.
  • Always braids back hair when fighting. Otherwise it is left out.
  • EXTREMELY scarred. Due to Mors Curse, her wounds take longer to heal and almost always scar. Uses magic as an illusion to cover up most of them.
  • Flowers are optional in draconic form.
Personality

Ayra was only 12 when she first met Artemis and joined the academy. She had lived on the streets as an orphan and had often resulted to stealing for herself and the other children to eat. She is very playful and mischievous. She is always the first to make light of a delicate situation, usually by joking around or sarcastic remarks. Ayra can be very impulsive and cocky, often losing the gravity of the situation that she's in. She tries her very best to please everyone, mostly Helios and Artemis but generally fell short of doing so. Ayra regularly tried to prove herself to Helios, who regularly scolded her for not being able to fight. She is usually quite clumsy, often messing things up without intentionally meaning to. She is a very skilled healer; being very caring and patient around those she treated. She is very loyal to those she is close with, usually taking the brunt of any consequences to protect them.

After Artemis' death, Ayra became very reclusive. She was cast aside by everyone and loathed by all of Caeles for her involvement in Artemis' death. She blamed herself for Arte's death, reprimanding herself for failing to heal her and being unable to fight. She threw herself into training, trying to become better so that she could help in some way, to make up for the losses and mistakes she had caused. She lost her bravado, instead she becoming very focused on training and discipline. She was punished several times for her failures in the team, leading to her becoming very selfless; to the point of her believing she is worthless.

After the War between Gods ended, she cautiously returned to her old ways; but with a new sense of maturity. She did not seek approval from anyone and rather did things out of her own moral beliefs. She is very blunt in what she has to say and has no problem with making hard decisions.

Abilities

  • Able to switch between her Fae and draconic forms. Can travel either through teleportation (Draconic or Fae) or flight (Only draconic)
  • Strongest magical blood in Kandara- exceeds that of both Agia and Nyx combined. She has not yet reached the full extend of her powers. She was born with an affinity towards healing but lost the ability to fully heal others after her battle with Nyx. After several centuries of practice, Ayra has mastered all elements, even pure Arcana itself; becoming the first to do so.
  • Extensive knowledge in medical practices, warcraft and legion infantry tactics.
  • Able to summon magic by rune incantations or through herself. Can invade other peoples minds to read their thoughts and emotions. In her Draconic form, mist/swirling wind follows in her footsteps when she uses large amounts of magic.
  • Can summon a double bladed sword, the weapon can split into two swords. Ayra prefers to fight with a blade in each hand. Like this~ The blade can be summoned back through magic, disappearing from its last resting place and reappearing in her hands.
History

Raised in an orphanage in the city of Caeles during the War of Aequui, thieving food from market stalls to feed herself and the other children. She had several run-ins with the Captain of the City Guard after he caught her stealing a loaf of bread. Ayra ran into Artemis who praised her for her agility and nimbleness in moving through the city; she told Ayra that she would grant her access into the school if she could teach herself magic. This got her a foothold into the academy where she trained and studied the art of medicine and magic.

Ayra worked her way up through ranks and tests very quickly; developing her little amount of healing magic into something very powerful and useful. This gained the attention of Agia's general, Artemis who offered her to become 'protégéé' to The Chosen. She trained with The Chosen for several months, becoming good friends with Artemis, Sussurus, and Caruor. Although she was very skilled with healing magic (Able to heal severe wounds in a matter of seconds) she could not fight and was scorned by her idol, Helios for it. Artemis, however, didn't mind and rather enjoyed Ayra's company.

Ayra smuggled her way into her first battle with the Chosen. The fight was a small fight but Ayra had no experience in fighting and was cornered. She was saved by Artemis, who was then killed by a spear through the chest. Ayra froze and failed to heal her, despite being able to cure far worse wounds. She was blamed for the death of Artemis and despised by the rest of the chosen, particularly Helios, Artemis's mate. She was suspended from the chosen and was to await further orders.

Ayra was given another chance to prove herself in the Chosen; a simple evacuation mission. But again, Ayra was not able to do what was asked of her; this resulted in Caruor being injured and several hundreds of lives being put at risk. Helios, now Agia's general, forbid her from ever setting sight on the chosen again, excluding her from any missions or training. Rumors spread around the Academy and soon she was cast aside by everyone, judged only by her mistakes. She spent 3 years with minimal contact with anyone. She spent this time training herself on how to fight to become useful to Helios in whatever way she could.

Stakes in the war became increasingly worse but The Chosen had managed to steal The Book of Remnants from Nyx, which held the ability to summon a powerful chance at winning the war. The Chosen went to fight the remaining battles and to hunt down Nyx, leaving the book in the hands of Caruor back at the Academy. Nyx had anticipated the move and transported the bulk force of her army to Caeles to destroy the city and steal back the book while The Chosen were away. With the city mostly defenseless without Agia's forces, Ayra faced Nyx herself. She created a powerful barrier spell, using her blood to tether a forcefield that would protect Caeles to her blood, becoming the first elemental wielder to use blood magic. The barrier that would not allow Nyx or her forces to pass into the city unless the spell was broken by Ayra herself. If she died, the spell would remain permanent. Nyx cursed her with the Curse of Mors to torture her into undoing the spell. After several hours of torture, Ayra managed killed Nyx and continued to protect Caeles from attack. The Chosen returned to Caeles unsuccessful in their attempts to hunt Nyx, only to find the outer city in ruins and the remainder of Nyx's forced laying siege to the city. The Warriors defeated the rest of the armies, and were crowned as saviors of the city. Agia appeared, restoring the ruined city and praising The Chosen for killing Nyx. The War of Aequui was won, the Five were blessed by Agia and made the First Gods but Ayra was excluded from the ceremony in spite of all she had done.

Now unofficially apart of Agia's Chosen, Ayra hunted down the last of Nyx's forces and put an end to the War. The group was ordered by Agia to unify the remaining kingdoms and unite them under a common kingdom, Asuriel. The 8 Chosen laid siege to several kingdoms and wholly destroying many others who would not meet their terms and bend the knee. 5 of the last great kingdoms remained, unwilling to bow to Agia's reign- The Chosen threatened to burn the Great Kingdom of Kaadia to the ground, along with its people. The young princess, Naerhys, heir to the throne refused to surrender her Kingdom but she was soon persuaded by Ayra. Hours later, Ayra posed to the princess an alternate option behind the backs of The Chosen; Fighting back and resisting the Asuriel conquest. Ayra offered her assistance to wage a war against Asuriel and Naerhys accepted. The Chosen was split into two, Ayra persuading Caruor and Sussurus to fight against the conquering reign of Agia, creating a civil war among the Chosen. The war between the two sides became known as the Second Great War. The war between both sides was ultimately ended when Ayra and her forces defeated Helios' at the Battle of Mooreign.

After the natural death of Empress Naerhys, Ayra, accompanied by Sussurus and Caruor, built the Sykirian Empire; she was later crowned Queen and ruled for 800 years. Tensions between Sykirian and Asuriel empires rose again, with Helios gathering his armies in preparation for war. Several bloody battles were fought with no determined winner, but severe losses on both sides. Asuriel advanced and a large-scale battle was fought on the fields of Ruali. Old teammates met on the battlefield with a vengeance for blood. Sussurus fought and killed Fortuna; Veeran and Sussurus died at the hands of each other and Ayra fought and killed Invidus. Caruor, siding with Ayra, had been tasked with evacuating everyone from nearby cities so he was not present at the battle. Keros and Helios were nowhere to be seen. Helios appeared for a split second before vanishing, unleashed his weapon of Khaos he's been developing for the last 800 years, killing everyone on the battlefield. Both sides suffered significant losses, with Ayra being the only living thing remaining on the battlefield (Due to the curse of Mors). The event was called Massacre of Ruali.

Helios, with the help of Keros, baited Ayra out; relying on her motif of vengeance to lead her straight to them. She was captured and tortured heinously for several months by Helios. During this time, the Empire of Sykiria fell apart. Ayra fell into a state of constant pain, often hallucinating. She had a fever-dream visit from Agia, who revealed the true origins of her heritage and in turn, unleashing her. Ayra broke free from her chains and hunted down Helios and Keros, who were laying siege to the capital city of Kaadia. Ayra slaughtered Keros and gave Helios a merciless death, warning them, that should they ever return for death, she would drag them back to hell, herself.

Ayra abdicated her claim to the Sykirian throne, leaving a descendant of Naerhys in her place. She lost all ties with her old life and started a new one in a small town, as far away from Kaadia as she could get.

Curse of Mors:  Before her death, Nyx cursed Ayra with the Curse of Mors. This curse is perpetual and cannot be broken. It binds the soul to life. Meaning that no matter the injuries sustained, the bearer can not die. The curse stifles the bearers ability to heal, meaning any wounds gained, fester, taking far longer to heal; as well as not allowing said person to heal others. Should the bearer sustain injuries too great (I.e decapitation), the body will reform in its original place of 'death'. The curse subjects the bearer to an eternity of pain, suffering and loneliness.
