Parents

Nero’s parents, Peony Lieberman and Vincent Caseraz were both from high-up and very wealthy families. They were extremely valued in the crime market, with the Lieberman’s performing a lot of worldwide scamming crimes and stealth robberies and the Caseraz’s running a popular hitman business. Since a lot of the high-up crime families kept a low profile and lived in a small community to avoid being exposed, Peony and Vincent met at a very young age. Their marriage was arranged pretty much from birth, which was very common in families like theirs. This was in order to make sure that family secrets didn’t stray too far from their tigh-knight community and to benefit the best they could from each family’s fortunes. Vincent lived a relatively happy childhood, though rather sheltered and kept away from society. He was homeschooled by private tutors and often dragged along to many high-up social events. He drew a lot of attention when he was a child, mostly because he was from a famous and wealthy family and he was very good looking. Many of the rich family’s children were also paired together based on their looks in order to produce pretty offspring. It was a sick sort of selective breeding to please the egos of high-up crime community. Vincent was an only child, but Peony had two older sisters, Eleanor and Cecily. Unfortunately, Peony got the good genes leaving her older sisters extremely jealous of her royalty treatment and marriage arrangement. Eleanor escaped the family when she turned 18, keeping a low profile in society until one day she died under mysterious circumstances. Of course, everyone knew her family did it since it wasn’t unusual to kill of family members that posed as a threat. Cecily knew about her sister’s plot and as punishment was sent off to serve one of the other high-up families for the rest of her life. It was common knowledge that children of high up families would go on to continue their business, so at a young age Vincent and Peony were put into training. Vincent learnt skills involved with being a hitman and Peony learned skills in stealth robbery and scamming. In their teenage years, they were told about their arranged marriage and were told to start acting as a couple in order to make their marriage seem less out of the blue. Both of them clicked at a young age as friends so they had no trouble moving their relationship forward into a romantic one. They were both pretty full of themselves from their childhood treatment and royalty-like status in their community, so they were pretty much perfect for each other. At 16, they started to do a bit of work for their family’s businesses because of how they excelled in their training. They would often aid each other in crime, coming to be known as partners in crime. At 18, Vincent went straight into the hitman business and became an extremely successful and desired hitman in the business, mostly because of his training and nack for it. Peony proved to be excellent at sealth robbery and scamming, using her good looks to seduce people and aid in her crimes. They were married not long after turning eighteen. Peony started to aid in the hitman business, though still doing jobs for her own family’s business. Everything was panning out nicely for the two of them, being the most loved married couple in their community.

Childhood

Things turned on their heels when at 19, Peony found out she was pregnant. It was accidental of course, because the couple being so full of themselves were just planning on spending the rest of their life with each other and didn’t want kids. Peony quietly planned on giving up the child for adoption but after it’s birth, both Vinecnt and Peony’s families somehow found out. They were absolutely thrilled to have a beautiful baby boy as part of their family, so now adoption was out of the option. Vincent and Peony had to suck it up and raise the child, but they weren’t very good parents. Nero was neglected as a child and very much left to his own devices. All throughout his childhood, Nero only wanted to impress his parents and get them to notice him. The family appeared happy at social events, the family of everyone’s dreams. In reality, Nero’s parents would often disappear to do their work and have lengthy holidays, leaving him in the care of Nero’s nanny, who, because of some swapping around maids in families, happened to be Cecily. By now, Cecily loathed her sister and her husband and saw her chance as Nero’s nanny to get some revenge. Throughout Nero’s childhood Cecily made many attempts to stage an ‘accident’. When he was very young, Nero didn’t notice her attempts to kill him and it was just pure luck that he wasn’t killed. But as he got older, Nero began to notice her attempts and he lost all trust in his nanny. This was largely the beginning of him having trust issues and being suspicious of everyone. After a while, Nero considered Cecily’s attempts as a sort of game to occupy himself. He began to guess what her next ‘accident’ would enjoy escaping these near death experiences at the last minute and pretended not to notice when she made another attempt to murder him. Little did he know, he began training himself unknowingly for the skills needed for his family’s business. At first, he was excited to be put into training early from showing excellent skills because he hoped that it would impress his parents and make them finally notice him. At first, this was the case. In fact, it wasn’t just his parents that noticed him. It was the whole community. Being put on a pedestal as such a skilled hitman only grew his ego though and so did everyone begging his parents to arrange a marriage with their daughters. Much to Nero’s dismay, they arranged a marriage with a girl from another high-up family called Quinn Iverson. Soon after beginning his official hitman training, he discovered that he hated even the idea of a hitman. Still, he went through with the training to please his parents and the community, dreading the time where he’d be forced to become a hitman. When the end of his training was coming to an end and he was approaching the age of 18, he planned an escape. He knew what happened to Eleanor, Peony’s older sister, so he didn’t want to run off. He convinced his parents to let him travel when he turned 18, which was easy because the parents just wanted nothing to do with him once he didn’t need to be cared for. But, his parents made Nero agree that once he finished his travels after 2 years, he would return and work for the family’s hitman business. He also made him bring only a skilled hitman from their business, Harlie, to keep watch over him and report back to his parents.

Present Time

While travelling Nero met Jasper when Jasper accidentally boarded a first class jet. Nero thought he was cute so he paid for his flight and things kicked off from there. They ended up travelling around together for the rest of the 2 years, with Jasper eventually becoming Nero’s boyfriend. As the two years came to an end, Nero knew he’d have to leave Jasper for his family and their hitman business. But, when he learnt that Jasper wanted to go to a prestigious university but couldn’t afford it, Nero wasted no time and enrolled them both. Nero originally hadn’t planned on enrolling into uni but if it meant he could have a few more years away from his parents and with Jasper, he’d do anything. He informed his parents that he had decided to go to university, which they were surprisingly pleased about, though they did remind him to immediately return afterwards. Nero’s parents didn’t know anything about Jasper, though if they did, they would try and stage an ‘accident’. Harlie somehow fell in love with Nero along the way and Nero used this to his advantage by getting making sure Harlie kept the secret of Jasper and Nero. Harlie was disappointed that Nero fell in love with Jasper but kept their secret so she’d still be allowed to be around Nero. Jasper and Nero settled down in a nice apartment near their university. So, Nero now lives with Jasper, keeping his secret of his family and the fact that he will eventually have to return to become a hitman and marry Quinn if he can’t find a way to escape.
