| ABOUT | Makoa is a young mercenary and Baal’s latest partner. Once a guardian to Edrea’s most revered prince, Makoa is a new recruit to The Chalice. He arrived in Rahav a disgraced warrior, forever from the only home he has known. The Devana is evasive about his past and skeptical of his new allies. His skill with a bow and experience as a royal guard give him value to the organization. Makoa is an excellent strategist whose perception outweighs the awkwardness with which he fits in many missions. He is still learning to operate undercover and lacks natural skill towards deception. Though on first impression Makoa seems impenetrable and impassive, he has strong values and forms quick attachments to those in his life who remind him of home. He is more impulsive than he appears and quick to anger. He feels most things deeply, with an intensity he struggles to manage. Makoa finds solace in small acts of nurturing, making tea, sewing, and mixing medicines from home. There are other rituals that calm Makoa, but he hides them away, fleeing to the forest when his skin itches and his heart tightens in his chest. Until he learns to trust Baal and the others, his secrets will remain his own. |
