Spiral

Ever since he was little, Spiral has loved science. He would take anything he could find around the house and mix it together, hoping to make a potion or something like that. He did his best in school but barely scraped by and was saved by his excellent science grades. He went off to study chemistry in college where he met Cedric. The two became best friends and bonded over their love for science. He was constantly fiddling with formulas and experiments and would sneak into the labs after hours to steal ingredients. After college, the two friends grew apart and went their own ways. Spiral got a job in selling his experiments and research. His experiments were often very risky, and many of them permanently altered his mental and physical state. When his money was tight he became desperate and thought of inventing some medicine that would make it so he wouldn't have to eat, therefore he wouldn't have to worry about buying food. After some trial and error he successfully made a pill tablet that gave endless energy and even boosted the bodies ability to stay clean, therefore showers and bathing weren't necessary. He called his friend Cedric to show him the invention and he suggested that he try to get the medicine patented but Spiral wasn't sure as he didn't know the side effects yet. This meeting led the two friends back together and a couple years later after forgetting a majority of his scientific knowledge, Spiral decided to start a carnival to get some money. He then called Cedric to help him out and they worked together and got new recruits for the carnival. He learned about the magical powers his childhood doll Vural had, so he brought him along too. When going to get some new equipment for his carnival he came across a small spirit he called Jest. The spirit immediatly latched onto Spiral, and the two became partners in mischief. Spiral also claimed to have perfected his energy boosting medicine and gave it to all his workers so they wouldn't have to go through the hassle of eating and bathing. After years of no business and the circus becoming abandoned, and Spiral and his workers still camping at the long forgotten site, thorougly convinced business would come, he realized that amnesia was probably a side effect of the medicine.
