Gabriel Greenberg

Oof he needs a better profile image. Also he's very much subject to a visual redesign, he's in my shortlist for who needs it most, alongside his sister.

Gabe is 16 years old, and the older twin to Cassie. Depending on context, he's either from Bristol (Southern England), or Pennsylvania. He's Jewish, and consistently practices. He's bisexual, with a preference for guys. Tall guys. With muscle. 

Gabe has two fathers, and due to how the surrogacy was done, Gabe and Cassie have different biological fathers and this is why their powers are so different. Their mother had electrical powers, which in Cass converted just into her having more energy available to contribute to more difficult or challenging shifts, and in Gabe made a significant change to his powers.

Gabe is a wizard. His soul is bonded with an ancient magic demon which grants him even greater power than he should naturally have, and contributing to him being an absolute powerhouse. His magic has a very lightning-y aesthetic, and his most powerful spells are always those where he shoots out sudden bursts of intense energy, similar to lightning strikes, but his easiest spell is flight, being the only magic he doesn't need to incant for.

Generally his magic needs incantations. These can be written or spoken, in any language, backwards, forwards, whatever, but the general unifying concept is that he has to repeat an honest intention. There's lots of things he can do to speed up the incantation, and there's lots of things other people can do to stop him, especially as what he means to do is normally really obvious. Luckily for Gabe, him and his sister have their own fully-functional twin language which he does sometimes use for spell-casting. 

Gabe is, for the most part, pretty nerdy. Apart from having reached the age where innuendoes are almost always funny to him, he's innocent. He loves Star Wars, Star Trek, comics, Lord of the Rings, D&D (where he always plays magical characters), etc, etc. Gabe absolutely adores D&D - and musicals. Bards are his favourite class. He hums at inappropriate times. He mostly chose to do superheroism when he got his powers due to his fan-boy-ism, and his sister copied because it sounded fun to get to beat criminals up (and to have a good public image when you decide scamming a shop-owner would be fun). Gabe's a little more morally white than that.

Gabe's not been properly tested, but he's at least coded autistic. He loves maths, science, systems, has an amazing memory, gets obsessive about random things, and struggles to relate to people who don't share his interests. Gabe is the responsible sibling, and the mature one, and can actually make decent decisions most of the time. He's over-protective of his sister - knowing that even having the approximate build of a stick-insect, he's far more able to protect her than she is him - and this leads to a hair-trigger temper of anyone she thinks is dangerous interacting with her. Unfortunately for everyone around him, his temper makes it really easy for the magic demon to take control, and Gabe can't regain control until he's calmed down again. 

Gabe is one of three of my characters who has demon-powers, and he's the only one who managed to remain morally good despite it.
