Kain lives with his father and grandparents in the village and loves them with all of his heart! Though... In all honesty, to say that Kain comes from a completely tranquil household would just be a very unfortunate lie. He wouldn't necessarily be a neglected child, but he definitely has witnessed a lot that no child should, living with his group of guardians. Namely, the abusive, manipulative and downright toxic financial hold that his grandparents have on his father, guilt tripping and shaming him into providing for them sometimes even before Kain.
Kain's father — Not wanting to have his child witness such a thing, has always allowed him to play outdoors a lot to get him as far away from his grandparents as possible. It's not like Kain was ever the nosey type anyways, he never understood or comprehended much of the things that happened or was said due to his age. There's no denying that bearing witness to this so young helped influence his persistence now in his life.
