Personality
Jade’s life at home without a mother figure had shaped her personality – Like it would many children, making her more reliant on her friends and struggle with having autonomy. She enjoys having at least one person in her presence at all times, whereas she shuts down emotionally when without, and simultaneously makes her more worried/paranoid on the standing of each relationship she has. But at the same time, it's almost made her more mature — Fittingly as the eldest in the group. She herself is very much a reliable figure in her group and enjoys being able to look out for and provide for those she has in her circle as a friend, almost in a big sister kind of way. She sees a lot of her friends as family which can make it easy for her to become discouraged with some in her group when she's not listened to or her advice is not heeded, wishing only for the best to those she holds close to her.

Lore
Truthfully, Jade has very little that she can say about her life at home, in regards to good things that is. Things were always the complete opposite of peaceful, as arguments would erupt on a whim between the adults and guardians in her life in an unhealthy display. The only parental figure she could really rely on was her father, who cared for her as the primary parental figure in her life, as her mother was absent and rather stagnant. It wasn't hard for Jade to see her mother’s clear distaste towards being a parent, pushed by guilt to blame herself for her mothers bitterness. Through this, it was her father that helped Jade find some sort of peace in the battlefield that was her own household – Solely with her mother to blame.
It was that good push that her father gave her — Showing her the values of outside relationships, paired with the obvious state of her household that created the reliance she has on her outside life with her friends and others. She had little that she could rely on in her personal life, thus having these bonds with others filling that “gap” of sorts. She struggled at first, but eventually — Taking advantage of her good standing with teachers as one of the smartest of the many students, she was able to make friends with numerous classmates through group projects and other school events – Relative to the group she’s close with today. She took the push her sole parent gave her and made the results something she could be proud of, cherishing and prioritizing the friendships she has with those around her above all else — Learning a lot of the values and beliefs she has now from these connections alone, as well as the drive to continue from Lily, a prominent face in her school that she was inspired by.. And it was this connection that eventually helped Jade find herself affiliated with Lucy and so on. Despite how close that she's gotten to the group,, she still refrains from sharing too much – in depth, about the state of her family or how she really feels about her standing in the group.. Knowing how different of a life many have and how unrelatable it may be to most having a less than ordinary relationship with family.. Desperately wanting to feel like she’s similar to those around her… Or at least give off that impression.
