Backstory
Ryder was brought up by a "family friend" she seems to remember little about as well as her father, the park ranger before her. Her mother unfortunately passed away early into her childhood, but her father raised Ryder on his own extremely well. Ryder was taught everything she knows by her father, and Romeo, her current horse was bred and raised by him. Her days are spent patrolling the nature reserve near her house in order to monitor and maintain its condition, which allows the area's unique magical qualities to persist. Ryder is an arcanist spellslinger, taught by her father. She uses magical runes to summon objects and manipulate her environment. For reserve work, she frequently carries a rifle engraved with enchantment runes. Until recently, Ryder was the lone park ranger for both the reserve and her local village, making her spread herself thin to complete both jobs well. Her horse Romeo was her only company on most days. Tragically, Ryder's father went missing without a trace when Ryder was 19. She still has hope he's out there somewhere and uses each expedition into the reserve as a way to search for him.
Present Day
A few months after her father disappeared, Ryder noticed strange activity within the reserve, and upon further investigation this activity resulted in encountering an old family friend, Nix. Nix offered to help Ryder locate her father, and she accepted gratefully, although she suspects Nix is hiding something from her...
