Alke

Alke is a generally unlikeable person, though the longer you spend with him the more he opens up. He is mostly quiet, but has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth. Alke believes in earning your place in the world, and values respect more than anything. As someone with a generally high rank, he can get pissy if people act against him without consulting. He is stubborn, and all too frequently gives into his vices. He is more logic driven, and rarely shows his emotions.

Alke grew up the oldest son of a noble family, with a sister just a year younger than him. Alke and Alda were very close growing up, both struggling under parents who held them to high standards. Alda had red hair like her brother, and they both loved sneaking horses out of the stables and riding in the countryside of their estate. While Alke was quiet and logical though, pushing his emotions aside, Alda was fierce and acted on her emotions, always getting a sense of the emotions of those around her. Alke was often her calming rock, and he would help her as they grew into their powers. As they grew older, marriages were arranged for both of them. As a declining family, their parents hoped to build strong relationships with other old noble houses.

The Cholant family had a long history of being kalashtar and prided themselves on their heritage. As such, Alke and Alda were strongly disciplined as children to grow into and control their abilities. Chol, the quori that connected all of them, always showed Alke visions when he slept. He and his sister were quickly taught to control their abilities through rigorous training, mostly of the mind. Both of them disliked it, though Alda was always far more vocal. When Alke was 20, he was sent to spend time with the family of his fiancee. During this time he visited a skygarden- a huge flying town meant to produce crops for the country. He fell in love with the special mounted force that guarded them, and decided to become a skyguardian.

Alke spent years training to become a skyguardian, working closely with his mount- a griffon named Gylfie that he had raised from an egg. He became high ranked, and avoided all responsibilities from his family. Alda however, married and had a daughter. Alke visited them as much as he could, but they gradually fell out of touch. A couple years after, Alke recieved news that his family had been murdered. He works now to find justice while also juggling the new challenge of being the head of a once great family.
