Wednesday used to have a different name but her identity as Wednesday, which has the ever-joyful moniker of CHILD OF WOE btw, sort of took over her life when she couldn't escape the terrible things that kept happening and she has more or less accepted that she is not allowed Nice Things and bad things are going to happen forever and ever. Great.

In other words, Wednesday is 100% done with everything and would really appreciate being left on her own, thanks. Even when she was young she was never really particularly cheerful, but she's become more apathetic and despondent over time and finds legitimate joy in very few things. On the plus side, that's made her really calm. Wednesday is nearly impossible to startle and it takes serious effort to irritate her. Also she was sort of a villain for quite a while so that is probably a good sign her moral compass is in a rather questionable position, though she never was one for overwhelming brutality and instead greatly preferred trickery and sly tactics designed to pull others down to her melancholic world view back when she actually cared about getting others to understand her perspective.

History

Way back in the day, Wednesday used to be part of a magical girl group with Yoru and Jerrica but she ultimately [and melodramatically] defected and became the Final Big Bad instead. Predictably, she was defeated and sealed away but the Power of Friendship in the remaining group was too shaken to perform properly and after an incredibly long and boring decade, Wednesday was able to escape and returned to do what must surely be terrible, dastardly deeds!!

Except not really. Y'know, there's really not much to do while trapped in limbo except contemplate your life and choices so by the time she was able to break free, she really wasn't feeling the evil sorceress thing anymore, as enjoyable and liberating as it had been. Nope, Wednesday has officially retired from the Evil Villain biz and is trying to adjust back to everyday life despite being a super powerful sorceress, but it's really difficult when your minions keep trying to convince you to return to villainy and dumb ex-hero ex-friends keep showing up trying to stop your extremely evil grocery shopping or whatever. Retirement hasn't been nearly as woe-free as it should be. =/
