Memphis has X tattoos on his neck, wrists and chest. He gets a new X for every failure he feels he has to carry. He does not openly talk about them or admit thats what they are for.

Raised by his human uncle until his passing when Memphis was 12, afterwards lived in a shelter until he was old enough to live out on his own. Often on his spare time he would write and sing, becoming incredibly well known to the locals of his talents ever since he was little. He used whatever money he could get to buy his own guitar. 

He started simple by singing covers of mostly country and rock, barely making ends meet by taking any gigs. (Most often malls, small parties) Being often on his own would inspire him to write his own music without much distraction. His frequent loneliness inspired him to create sad songs with an upbeat cheery melody to create a sense of irony. It was much easier as a starting out musician to play covers as much as he yearned to play his own music.

A new hip coffee shop opened up nearby and was seeking local live entertainment. Many of the bands booked were more well-known locals with record deals who were given the slots to play for the first few opening weeks and refused Memphis. As much as he would ask to preform for the owners for a chance, he was refused each time.

One day out of spite, Memphis set up a busking spot right off the corner of the coffee shop and started to sing. Passerby entering the coffee shop praised him thinking we was apart of the business inside. He sang aggressive and loud, well knowing he would get into trouble and prepared to be shoo'd off.

A man walked out of the coffee shop, but was not the owner, it was Mikail. Impressed with his music, he offered him a job to work over at the Den.
