North is a very hard to read individual, having spent years masking his emotions. His home life was abusive as a child, his only escape being lying about his age and paying his way into the military so that he could move away. North has the ability to freeze things or to generate ice at will from the moisture in the air which was an asset and stuck him in a special fighting force with those able to use similar powers. While in the military, North made a lifelong friend in Trevor, his personal medic, which lasted after he was discharged after injury. Old enough to live on his own, and taking the money his late mother had set aside for him specifically, North became a bit of a recluse once again.
