Cory Lennon [ trusted friend; romantic interest ]

After helping the human narrowly escape certain doom, Baster would soon find his string of fate forever intertwined with Cory's. Though the highblood had no intention of helping Cory any further than getting a local creep off his ass, the two subsequently formed an agreement that Baster would house and protect the lost individual until they could find a way to get him back home. Throughout the time that followed, however, the two would grow much closer than anticipated, and Baster would find himself more confused than anything else. He cares for Cory; that much is certain, but he can't seem to define how he feels beyond that. What's worse is his hardened exterior prohibits him from seeking the answer. Currently, he views his companion as a trusted friend; someone he can rely on... and perhaps, over time, allow himself to become more vulnerable around.

Conius Vitale [ trusted friend ]

Though their friendship was unlikely, as most of Baster's relationships tend to be, Conius managed to weasle his way into the highblood's good graces. It was no easy task, but for some reason the jade had taken a liking to him, and eventually succeeded in earning his friendship. Conius had given Baster his first, and last, tattoo... before the purple had developed his fear of needles. Because of this tattoo, however, the bond between these trolls seemed to have only grown stronger. It's a permanent mark of their friendship, and something Baster will always cherish, though he refuses to admit that aloud. Conius and Baster have a close-knit relationship, and share many secrets with one another. They also dabble in the illegal harboring of literal aliens together.

Tetris Erreni [ trusted friend ]

Baster's relationship with Tetris wasn't always a good one. Back when Baster was fresh out of the schooling he was forced to endure, he ran into Tetris by chance, and because of the teal's overly trusting and optimistic nature, the highblood was very intrigued. His interest in him was noted by the mistress (of whom kept a watchful eye over him), and as a way to test his loyalty, he was instructed by the mistress to do his absolute worst. His mental state was incredibly unstable, and that paired with the teachings he was under, his actions against Tetris were... cruel, to say the least.

Fortunately, Tetris made it out alive in the end, once Baster had seen the reality of the situation. The purple eventually found Tetris again after some time, and without any alterior motive, he fell to his knees and apologized. The teal was taken aback, and only accepted the apology out of fear at first... but as time went on, he grew to understand. Though neither he nor Baster excused what happened, they both have come to understand it, and Tetris forgave him once and for all. Now the two are close friends, and see one another fairly often. Though Baster still feels a sense of lingering guilt each time, he's always more than happy to welcome the teal into his hive.

Zenith Bixbie [ former friend ]

From childhood friend to fading memory, Zenith was once an incredibly important troll to Baster. They grew up and fought beside one another from a very young age. Fresh out of trials, the two were forcibly enlisted into the same program, and that was how they met. Their friendship blossomed quickly, as they had many traits in common. They got along well, stood up for one another, and were always there when the other needed them most. The two dreamed of excelling in their studies while attached at the hip--neither of them would proceed or lag behind without the other following suit. Unfortunately, however, fate had other plans.

As they reached the end of their mandatory schooling, the mistress' successor took a liking to Zenith, and had her enlisted under his care as his body guard. Meanwhile, Baster remained under the watch of the mistress. The two tried desperately to stay in contact, but due to their specific circumstances, their connection was lost, and they haven't spoken to one another since. To this day, Baster often thinks about Zenith and what he could've done to change things... but he tries not to linger on the subject, as he knows that, now, it's unlikely he'll ever see her again.

Eudera Cullen [ ex-matesprit ]

Similarly to Zenith, Baster met Eudera for the first time within the insitution they were both enrolled in. However, the two did not click as quickly as he and his best friend did. Initially, Baster had no real opinion on Eudera. She was quiet, cold, and tended to keep to herself, so they hadn't actually spoken with one another until one fateful night. Sparing the details, Baster had gone out of his way to enact a kind gensture towards the kids in his grade, and to his surprise, Eudera was the only troll aside from his best friend to reciprocate. From then on, Baster made an effort to greet her when he saw her, in hopes she'd feel less isolated. His continuous acts of kindess eventually lead to Eudera falling for him, though it was in a... twisted sort of way. Eudera couldn't feel real emotion, so what she felt for Baster was warped into some form of obsessive desire to contain and control the positivity he was giving her.

Unfortunately, when Eudera inevitably confessed she was flushed for Baster, he declined. He was nice to her, but he didn't feel the same way she did--or the way she made it sound she felt. With that, something in her snapped. In a fit of panic and rage, she took control of his mind and completely altered certain memories. In the process, she implemented a flase sense of flushed feelings within him as well. From then onward, she got what she wanted... Baster accepted her feelings, and the two became matesprits not long after. Though Baster had his own form of mind manipulation, which helped him fight some of her influence. After many sweeps of toxic behavior and blatant manipulation, the highblood broke free from her grasp. Blinded with rage and disgust, Baster attempted to kill her that night, but ultimately he would fail due to his lack of strength after fighting such a heated mental battle. He hurt her well enough, and fled. He hasn't seen her since, but that wouldn't stop him from looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.

Griffin [ Lusus ]

Baster's relationship with his lusus was indescribable. His lusus was with him through thick and thin, and supported his views and ideas. He saw all the things the little highblood couldn't show anyone else; the ugly moments where he cried himself to sleep, or the violent outrages he suffered. His lusus was there for all of it--every dark night. No one could replace his dad, and no one could live up to his legacy. Unfortunately, when Baster was around 4 sweeps of age, the head mistress was made aware of the free-thinking spirit the lusus was molding Baster into, and she took it upon herself to slaughter the beast in cold blood. Having intentionally left the griffin for Baster to find in his own backyard, the young troll ran to his teacher for comfort and solace. Taking the opportunity to see what he had learned, she placed the blame on some students within the facility that were lacking in their studies. Now motivated with rage, and empowered by the skills he'd learned, Baster took it upon himself to exact revenge.

Not a single child survived the attack, and to this day, Baster thinks back on the event with mixed feelings. He still believes his mistress, and that their deaths were justified, but killing them didn't bring his lusus back, and only temporarily quelled the rage within him. He misses his lusus, and refuses to take down any photos within his hive featuring the griffin.
