True to her element of fire and the nature of kitsunes, Lena is a loaded gun. The barrel is often still smoking when her trigger-finger draws back to take a second and third shot. She does not take injustice or disrespect well. If she feels slighted, she finds ways to systematically destroy or dismantle her adversary. Should someone take aim at her loved ones, she turns an arms race into a nuclear fire-fight. She can go from zero to sixty at the drop of a hat. It isn't uncommon that those around her experience a kind of psychological whiplash when in her presence.

That said, beneath all the perceived aggression, there is a bleeding heart. Her temper tends to overshadow the depth of her passion for social justice and the well-being of others. She cares so deeply that it is frequently at her own expense. Lena wants to do good in the world; she wants to make a difference for someone, anyone. However, in her endeavors, she can fall short or act too impulsively, unintentionally alienating others. She's resolute and headstrong, certain of her values and her opinions. This has led to many a confrontation, be it verbal or physical. She is the stalwart protector of the weak and the underdogs.

She loves her career, particularly the wide reach it provides her. Interacting with fans of her works is one of her greatest joys, as she craves that connection to others (as well as the attention). She struggles with intimacy and being vulnerable; and, in many ways, having thousands of one-off acquaintanceships with people she will likely never see again seems to be the safest form of interaction in her eyes. She is the absurdly charismatic party girl with hundreds of acquaintances and, perhaps, two or three really good and trusted friends.

Lena was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, to a wealthy businessman and a wandering artist. Her father, Arashi Okumura is a thunder kitsune; while her mother, Eugenia Bautista, is a fox shapeshifter who works closely with the earth element. Her parents have two children, of which Lena is the youngest. She has an older sibling named Kamarynne ('Kamie') Okumura who is a clinical psychologist as well as a water kitsune.

Even before she became an actress, Lena had always been something of a (self-proclaimed) star. If she wasn't putting on shows and impromptu performances for her family, she was doing it for anyone who would watch. She was discovered at the age of seventeen, purely by chance. She auditioned for a small role in a television series over in the United States, and from then on out, she carved her way through Hollywood to the place she is now. Extremely vocal for both Asian and LGBT representation in media, Lena reflects this in her personal life as she is an out and proud bisexual woman and has been open about this since she was twenty.
