A very quiet girl with extremely low self-esteem. For as much as she is kind and people-pleasing to the world, the world is equally demanding and abusive of her. Her friends, while not terrible people, do use her lack of self-confidence against her to do what they want, and no matter how uncomfortable Hearth is in a situation, she will do anything to make others happy. No matter how miserable it really makes her. She has had hardly any room to breathe and be herself without her friends discouraging her, and so she's grown accustomed to nothing being wrong (when everything is wrong). She is bullied by a national pop icon, and has little say in social situations, and she comes very close to giving up on everything.
Until she meets Compass.

In an accident, a purely stumbled upon artefact that began to speak to her when she touched it. It seemed overjoyed to talk, as though it hadn't ever had the chance; it babbled on endlessly; it seemed to have a lot on its chest, and Hearth, always the kind listener, was content to be the ear Compass needed. However, Compass also seemed keenly interested in Hearth and her life, too. It was the first he'd ever encountered outside, after all. He asked her questions on questions, eagerly listening as she shyly shared. No one has ever... listened to her, before?
It feels nice.

Hearth's pet! She doesn't own Fitz as much as Fitz has decided to live with Hearth and make her lap home. Anyway, it's the only creature other than Compass that seems to remotely enjoy her around, and it always warms Hearth's heart to come home and sleep with them.

The neighborhood... guy. It doesn't feel just to call him a bully, she tries her best not to, because surely he's much deeper than the names he calls her and the scrapes and cuts he's put on her after all these years. They've known each other since they were kids. Surely one person couldn't hate her THAT much, for so long, right? She can't deny the pit of fear whenever they spot one another, though. And it's pretty often.
