Zelda was created not to long after I created her son, Zuro, sometime in early 2011. She was mentioned in his app for his Voleros Saga bio so I tried to work out a design for his mother, who I knew would be a chimera. Most of her concept came pretty easily, though I can also thank Aya/VHPlant for the name, which again stuck.
Zelda's had a lot of growth thus, at first she was a more passive side parent character, but as I developed Zuro I developed her as well. The details of their relationship became clearer, along with her relationship with other characters, and it helped solidify her more maternal nature.
She ultimately got a huge burst of development once I had a more solid idea of her ex-partner, Dzhokar; while I wasn't too sure about his feelings for her at the time, I realized her feelings for him would run deep and left an impact on her current character. But thankfully it got to a point where I could develop her and have her make some peace with that past, although there are still past of her history with Dzho (and vice versa) that are still in the works.
I've written as Zelda a few times and she's fairly comfortable to work with when I can, but I wouldn't consider her a go to character for RPing, etc. As of now she's not in any RP groups but being developed at a slower pace within her own story and with headcanons.
Her design hasn't given me nearly as much difficulty as Dzho, but it has changed a lot since it's concept, most with her horns and snake tail, and small parts of her color scheme. I think I've reach a point where I'm more satisfied with her design, and the traits I've settled on include:
Teal blue eyes with slit pupils and yellow sclera; golden blond hair, past shoulder-length; ectomorph; long, ram-like horns that curl around the back/side of her head; cat-like ears; green snake-tail that often behaves independently, but in tandem with her motions and mood.
