Amber's story is one of fate and consequences, though many of the consequences are buried in a complicated web of choices. Was it fate at all or was there always something more at play? Whatever happened, Amber will not be examining it and she would like to learn very little from it. Into her senior years, she will remain the fun-loving girl who never grew up, the girl who sits in the gilded cage.

Family Life

Daughter of King Selphina and the youngest of three children, Amber was not born the heir to the throne and had a carefree childhood compared to her older brother and sister. She was both doted on and envied by her siblings as she got to go on adventures and experience the world merely as a rich girl as opposed to a government official. Amber thinks very fondly of her family and how stress-free it was for her.

Adding new members to that image has always been hard for her. When hardship pushes back against a relationship, Amber has a tendency to drop it as opposed to fortifying it. Thus, she has few close bonds and is even distant with her two children.

History

Amber was third in line for the throne and had no interest in seeking it out, even though it came with plenty of power. After all, there should only be one King of all of Mead, not three, so the right King may someday rule a whole planet. For all of Amber's flaws, a lust for power is not one of them. Her siblings were different from her.

The eldest was her sister, Mica, was an ambitious woman who mastered many skills in order to always have the approval of the people at her back. The praise of others fueled her, and eventually, she grew very confident and assassinated her mother, Selphina, then framed a rival kingdom for the deed.

As she tactfully cleaned up her mess, middle child, Ammon, made his own plans. Just as she finished all the hard work, Ammon publicly accused her of homosexuality. The love of the people wavered and Mica, humiliated, fled the kingdom and was never seen or heard from again. And so, Ammon was crowned king.

However, a long royal line is not one known for its health, and after a few years, Ammon fell deathly ill. On his death bed, he explained to his young sister what had occured behind the scenes, and voiced his regret for his own misdeeds. When he passed away, Amber was the only one left, and had to take the crown.
