Helen is part of my sci-fi AU of The Illiad, the epic poem by Homer. Credits to bardic collective, I guess?
TL;DR: An amnesiac exploring a galaxy that takes a little to much interest in her. She spends most of her time trying to keep herself and her friend, Hector, out of the galactic conflict.
✦ Personality
At first, she is very much a blank slate, but she grows into a brave and selfless person, traits she learned from Hector. Essentially becoming a person during a war makes her sharp and quiet, looking for danger all around, and somewhat of a pessimist. Helen is curious and fascinated by this world around her, even if she finds most of it really scary. Everything is terrifying and new, but she braves it witch as straight a face as she can manage, largely because she has no choice. All she wants is for this to be over and to rest without having to worry. She is easily frustrated, and quits too quickly. Sometimes it's all too much for her. Excellent fine motor control and a good eye for color.
✦ Appearance
A beautiful young woman with brown skin, dark eyes, and purple crew-cut hair. She has large eyes and full lips. There is a single freckle on the right side of her upper lip. Rather short (5'2") and very curvy. Stuck wearing the underwear she woke up on for a while, but she fashions a tunic out of sheets eventually. She gets real clothes later.

Helen is a young woman with no memories- not even her name- before waking up in a strange room full of screens and medical equipment. Not about to stay cooped up in a creepy room, she follows a mysterious figure into a maze of hallways. Instead of catching up to them, Helen gets waylayed by a man who has just as much memory as she does, a man who introduces himself as Hector, Together, they escape from what we soon learn is a prison warship ship-- in freaking space. Having accidentally become a space outlaw, Helen and Hector dodge around the galaxy, trying to avoid both sides of the war that's going on between Trojans and Spartans.
Turns out, Helen is a clone of another woman, also named Helen. The original Helen, (Helen of Troy, let's say) is the center of this war, which sparked after she left her husband, Menelaus for another man, Paris. Then, after she couldn't convince her lovers to stop fighting and let her leave, she escaped Paris, going on to create a splinter cell of fighters working to end the war on their own terms. But Paris decided that that wasn't acceptable (it especially wasn't acceptable that he had LOST the focal point of the war), so he had his twin brother, Alexander, create a clone of her for him- the Helen here. He removed any memories and only implanted the most necessary skills and experiences to for her to be a housewife, and she sTILL escaped. Guess they aren't good at keeping Helens hostage.
| Hector | The first person she met after waking up, and in pretty much the same boat as her. They have to rely on each other pretty quickly, and over the course of their ordeal, they become eternal allies and inseparable friends. He is her rock, totally reliable in every circumstance, and she can't image who she would be without him. Havent decided it they're a romantic ship or not yet. |
