Vanthiel doesn't have a permanent place to live and often wanders the routes between the western and eastern sides of the continent. He usually does super long trips but doesn't have any particular route or schedule that he sticks to. Since he isn't a fan of being in the open, he'll often stay out of sight, so running into him would be nearly impossible. If anybody's looking for him, it's better for them to wait until he finds them instead.

Vanthiel was originally among the earliest of angel generations and served in the angelic army for nearly his entire existence. When word of a traitor came out, he took the fall for everybody involved and, in exchange for his wings and home, he managed to bury the truth.

After losing his wings, nearly dying as a result, and now being essentially homeless, Vanthiel tried to be optimistic about it and said that being grounded was a good excuse for him to finally get out and see the world. Without any superiors breathing down his neck and no walls to confine him, he was free to do whatever he wanted and decided to try living a "normal" life for once. He started going simply by "Vanth" or "Van" instead of his real name to separate himself from his angelic identity.

Unfortunately, after his first week of being grounded, Vanth found himself missing his wings in silence, suffering nightmares, and having difficulty fitting in with other mortals in town. Even if he walked the same ground as they did and gained a new perspective, he realized that he still never felt hunger or any other desires that a mortal would. It left him feeling with a feeling of emptiness - that he was missing the most important things necessary for living.

Eventually, Vanth settled on becoming a traveller, using his "job" as an artist as an excuse. He'd always be on the move to sketch and paint the pretty landscapes. He distanced himself from other people, but he also found himself enjoying the world despite the loneliness. It was more comforting for him to be alone instead of struggling to fit in with society.

Once in a while, he'd return to the demon outpost where Moloch stayed while off duty. He became a source of information for his friends, who knew little about the world past their isolated mountainside and kingdom. With every bit of news or rumor, he'd carry them home to tell Moloch and Reavekin. Reavekin sometimes accompanied him on shorter journeys as well.
